"You were right," are the first words I say to Sonia as we, plus Macy, sit at the library. It's been a few days since she's drunkenly called me to apologize. Since then, we've both been so busy that we haven't had time to talk it out. So now, the three of us sit at the library to talk and study. Macy is here more as a mediator but I think she just lives for the drama.

Sonia's dark brows lift up in surprise. "I was?"

I nod and swallow the last of my pride. If there's one thing that I really hate, it's admitting when people are right. It goes completely against my stubborn nature. "You were. It doesn't mean that you did the right thing."

"Uh... I'm a little confused," Macy butts in, sticking her red head between us. My view of Sonia is temporarily blocked and I quickly shove the girl back into her place.

"You were right about me needing to talk my problems out," I say to Sonia, completely ignoring Macy at this point. "But, signing me up for therapy crossed a line."

"You could've always canceled the session," Sonia huffs, crossing her tan arms over her chest.

"Yeah, if I had the money," I snort and right away guilt settles in her features. I guess she didn't know about the cancellation fee. That makes my guilt ease up slightly. "Fifty bucks to cancel a free session. How fucked up is that?"

Both girls shake their heads in disbelief. I agree with them. The situation is so capitalistic as a whole. "I'm sorry, El. I just... I really worry about you," Sonia says again.

I feign annoyance and scrunch my face before dropping the expression and shrugging. "I'll forgive you because you had your best intentions. Still, I really want you to ease off. It's seriously not your place." The only reason I'm really forgiving her is because her intention wasn't to force me into anything. She thought I could cancel the appointment without repercussions. That's all that really matters.

Macy sulks back into her chair. "This is all I came for? Where are the claws?"

"Hm, check with one of your boy toys," Sonia teases, making me laugh. A few people shoot glances our way before looking back at their work. I don't understand why, it's not like we're doing anything illegal. We're not on the quiet floor.

Macy flips her off before a flash of remembrance lights up her eyes, followed by a nervous smile directed at me. Her easygoing nature suddenly falters as she licks her lips clean of lipgloss. "Ellie, when was the last time you've checked up on your boyfriend?"

"Laine? We texted a couple hours ago..." I frown, not liking the way her voice sounds so guarded, like I'm about to freak out.

She smacks her forehead with her palm and mutters something under her breath before her shiny eyes focus on me. "I mean... your other boyfriend."

I cock my head in confusion. "Other boyfriend? What are you - Oh! You're talking about-"

"Harry," she says in a forbidden whisper. I laugh at how dramatic she's being but it dies down when I realize she isn't about to relay good news. Her and Sonia share nervous glances, letting me know I need to brace for something big. Macy leans in, putting a hand on top of mine and squeezing. "He's rumored to be dating a new girl."

My stomach clenches as a wave of jealousy runs through my entire body, making me want to cower away and explode at the same time.

We're friends. Just friends. He can date anyone he wants.

"Oh?" My voice cracks, failing to sound strong. "Who?"

"Some model or whatever," she quickly brushes off. Still, her words echo in my mind as a humorless smile tugs on my lips. Model? I knew I wasn't good enough for him. It was only time before he upgraded, right?
