"Hey," I lean over the console and instinctively kiss Harry's cheek before settling down in my seat. He stays still, gaping at me. I roll my eyes but a smile adorns my face. "What?"

"I just... I can't believe you're really here."

"I won't be if you keep stalling in the parking lot," I reply, joking of course. I wouldn't be me if I didn't joke. Plus it's an easy way to ease the tension.

"And you're joking with me..." he continues in disbelief. I'm a little flattered he doesn't think I'm real. Then again, a little offended as well? I don't know.

I thought I'm supposed to be the shy one here.

He finally breaks out of his trance and pulls out of the lot.

"Where are we going?" I ask as the buildings whizz by.

"Since you're refusing to let me show you off to the world," he dramatically sighs, "I was thinking we grab some takeout and head over to my place?"

"Sounds good," I grin as his phone chirps in the cup holder of his car.

He glances down at it. "Can you check that for me?"

Wow, him letting me check his phone? He must not be hiding anything. I pick up the phone and check the message.

Zayn: Are you coming home tn?

I repeat the message to Harry, who winces. "What? What happened?" I ask, suddenly panicked.

"Zayn told me not to come home earlier because he and Perrie..."

My mouth forms an 'o' shape and I visibly relax. For a second I thought he had other plans or something tonight. Then I realize we were supposed to go to his house for our date.

"We can go to mine," I suggest.

He raises a brow and glances over at me. "But what about your roommate?"

"Oh, it's rooftop night at our apartment so he won't be there." For once I'm grateful for a bunch of stoners getting together and smoking at the top of my building.

I can tell he wants to ask what that means but he doesn't. Instead, we fight about what we should get for dinner and we eventually compromise on pizza because it's the fastest thing.

"Wait, you're not vegan or anything, are you?" Harry asks as he warily eyes the boxes in my lap.

"I'm appalled you even had to ask." I mean, we already ordered and got the pizzas. Why the hell wouldn't I say anything earlier if it were true? "God, Harry, and I thought you knew me."

He takes his hands off the steering wheel and defensively throws them up. "You just look so much skinnier! And I don't even know how that's possible considering you were already skinny."

I nervously chew on my lip as I look out the window. I attempt to make an excuse, but I doubt he believes it. "Sometimes when Medusa has her pilates class, I'm forced to participate."

That isn't the truth. My eating habits just haven't been the best.

"Right," Harry says warily.

"Can we not talk about work? I just got out and I'm really over it right now," I attempt to change the conversation.

He playfully gasps. "Not talk about work?! You're a new woman!"

"Shut up," I smack his arm. As I pulling my hand away, he grabs it and entwines our fingers, resting them between us.

My breath is simply knocked out of my lungs.

"Is this okay?" He glances over and squeezes our hands. I nod, unable to speak.
