Rants: Screw the World!

WHY LIFE

My great grandma just fell and broke her hip :'( She's probably going to have to go to a nursing home now.

My grandparents, parents, and I were just sitting at Pizza Hut, having a good time, eating our cookie pizza, when Great Grandpa called. We rushed to the cars, threw my bags from the Navigator into the Escape, and took off. Grandma and Grandpa are going to go try to help out, and we're gonna go home to straighten things out. Mom's going to have to take some time off of work to do the bookwork.

My grandparents and great grandparents run a farm, not a big one but also not a small one. There's a crapload of bookwork for every aspect of the farm, and Great Grandma Eva has always taken care of it. When she threw out her knee (earlier this year? Last year?) Aunt Peggy (Mom's aunt) took over the bookwork. And it was a nightmare.

No one in my family likes Peggy. She's loud, obnoxious, rude, and just an overall bitch. But they still put up with her. Somehow. She totally messed up the bookwork, Grandma couldn't make sense of any of it, and neither could Mom. Great Grandma got to where she could function, and resumed bookwork, which was a relief to everyone. They don't want to have to go through that again. Mom is going to appeal to her boss (whom I would strangle given the chance; Linda's a [bleep bleep bleeeeeep]) and see how much time she can get off, and she's going to go to the farm and help with the bookwork. Grandma was planning on retiring next year and taking over for Great Grandma, but she might retire sooner because of this. The only reason she hasn't already retired is because she needs funds for her arthritis medication, and this might just be the extra push she needed.

Great Grandma's in immense pain right now. An ambulance is on the way, and she's going to end up in the hospital in North Platte later. I'm not sure how Great Grandpa is going to take care of himself. I don't know what's going to happen to their house if he goes to a nursing home with her. I have no clue when I'm going to be able to see her again.

I don't know who's going to take care of the cactus she got for Christmas.

I don't know how this is going to change my life. On top of the sick kitten taking up residence in our house and having to go back to school in 4 days, I'm going to be really stressed out.

I'm sorry I haven't posted a proper rant in a while. The holiday season has put me in a good mood, not ideal for finishing up the 6 rants I've started but never completed. I'll try to work on them when life settles down.

In the mean time, does anyone want a free kitten? She only eats tuna, and has really smelly farts, and isn't really litter box trained, but she's very fuzzy and adorable. My friend might be adopting her eventually, but we need to get this thing out, and soon. Fuzz has peed under the Christmas tree at least 5 times by now. *le facepalm*

P.S. I've come up with a new alias for myself: Sky. In Hawaiian, my name means "sky or heavenly body", and I figure Sky is a bit less pretentious than Heavenly Body 😝 I've been thinking about creating a YouTube channel where I'm Skythedonut, thoughts? It's probably just going to be full of kittens and awkward moments if I ever do get my lazy arse around to starting it up. But, it would be a good way to keep my mind off of recent events and such.

Hey Maddy, I finally got around to watching Dan and Phil play Innuendo Bingo last night... we are SO going to have to do that some time 😃 It looks HILARIOUS!

Hopefully in the future I'll have a separate book for these non-rants. I would put them in Stuff!, but I think that book's dead. Besides, I think they'll fit into my new book better. It's called Story of My Life, and I think I'll post it when I post this chapter (maybe but not likely).
