Rants: Screw the World!

Rant 12 ~ Autumn

I'm not ranting against fall, heck no, it's my favorite season! Normally I'd be out enjoying fall, but I kind of got ticked off today at @ginawriter 's most recent rant. One of her 5 topics was how she hates fall so much, and I just kinda GRAAAAHHHHASDFGHJKLWLALSOANTOAOFJALAKFNGPWQIFJCAMALCLAN
so yeah. Gina is a fantastic writer, and I agree with a lot of what she says, but her opinion of autumn is not part of that. I'm going to go sentence-by-sentence and retaliate with my opinions where I think she was totally wrong, and I'm gonna do this whole thing Gina-style too (if you've read her Dumb Fanfic Moments, the layout of this rant will bear some resemblance.)

Gina, if you are reading this, I have nothing against you and you're an absolutely fantastic writer, but I just love fall and I can't let this rest easy. Under normal circumstances I would write this like a civilized human being, but this is a rant, so I have to write it rant-like. If that makes sense.

1. "It's just an ugly reminder covered in pumpkin spice that winter is coming before you know it."

let me know when the vibrant hues of orange pumpkins and rainbows of yellow, red, and orange trees become ugly yeah okay.

2. "No one actually jumps in leaves nor has fun raking leaves or touching leaves or doing anything besides staring at them and taking pictures."

like bitch you're really pathetic if you just mope around taking pictures of leaves all fall.

3. "No one cheers when it downpours or jumps in puddles like WTF we're not in Caillou."

rain sets a mood, a darkly beautiful mood, one perfect for writing depressing scenes, horror stories, and poetry. no one happily jumps in puddles because they're too busy letting the rain wash away their sorrows and taking a break from the otherwise cheerful aura of autumn.

4. "And pumpkin spice lattes aren't all they are made out to be. It's just black coffee with milk and some cinnamon and nutmeg."

i agree for once, fall-themed coffee isn't always the greatest. who needs pumpkin spice coffee when you can have pumpkin spice hot chocolate?!

5. "And this October is so bipolar, like today felt like summer but next week it's supposed to freezing (well at least in my view) and MY MIND IS SO CONFLICTED JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND IS IT SWEATER WEATHER OR NOT."

since the earth is tilted at that happy medium between summer and winter it's going to feel like both summer and winter for a while. S'WINTER! just wear a tank or short-sleeved tee every day and have a sweater to go with it so if it's cold wear the sweater and if it's warm take off the sweater. not exactly rocket science.

And I'm done! Okay now bye. Go away. Shoo. I have more rants to write. Got plenty of time to, being stuck in isolation with Ebola... just kidding ;) Although you never know, I might get it some day. But hopefully not today.
