Chapter 13

Louise’s P.O.V

When I arrived at the skatepark, it was packed. One of those stupid underground parties must be going on, I thought to myself, annoyed by all of the people. Usually people just stand around outside of the park, so they generally don’t bother me. As I walked towards the park, I take my headphones out of my pocket and put my phone on my favorite playlist. Still looking at down, I shove my phone into my pocket, but before I can look up, a sudden shudder strikes me. It isn’t until I raise my head that I realize someone’s beer has been spilt all over me, and they have already walked away. I look back, and catch a glimpse of a dark haired boy with his arm around a girl, a deep laugh coming from his mouth. When I turn back around, I jump at the sight of a tall blonde haired boy in front of me, his blue eyes wide with shock. “I’m so so sorry” he stumbles. I notice his thick australian accent when he talks, and I take note of the black ring on his bottom lip, moving with his words. “I don’t… I’m so sorry about Calum, he’s such a..” he starts again. “It’s alright” I hold up my hand to stop his rambling, aware of his nervous state. I walk over to the water fountain near to where we were standing, the only one in the park, and begin to soak my shirt in the water. The boy follows me, silent, but a worried look still on his face. “Really” I say, reassuring him. “It’s alright, it’s not the first time that’s happened. And I mean, it’s not like this was a top notch outfit either” I say, sending him a smirk to make sure he knows I’m serious. “I..I’m still sorry, he really is a douche” he says, biting his lip ring and looking at his shoes. “I’m Luke” he says, reaching out his hand to shake mine. “Louise” I say, holding up my shirt under the water to show him that my hands are dirty with beer, and he nods. “I’ll buy you a new shirt, I really am sorry” he says again. “I think I’ll take you up on that” I respond, chuckling. “This one is long gone” I say again, lifting the shirt to smell the gross smell staining it. Taking out his phone, he opens his lock screen, and hands me it. Confused, I ask him “What?” not sure of what he is expecting. “It’s pretty late, and I’ve got to take that douchebag Calum home, so I thought maybe I could get your number so I could buy you that shirt sometime” he stutters, scratching the back of his neck. “Oh yeah, of course” I laugh, cursing myself for my stupidity. Grabbing his phone, I punch in my number and hand it back to him. “Thanks, I’ll talk to you later” he says, smiling. “yeah” I mumble, unsure of the decision I just made. Turning, he begins to walk away, almost running, probably looking for Calum. I watch as he walks away, his red and black flannel flowing behind him, and his black skinny jeans repeatedly showing his skin at the torn parts in the knees. As soon as I notice my staring, I snap myself out of my trance. He was nice, I think to myself, smiling at his adorable nervousness. Yeah, nicer than that Harry. My subconscious remarks, reminding me. It isn’t until I realize I’ve been standing at the water fountain for ten minutes that I finally decide to leave. I came here to skateboard, but now I smell of beer, and it’s almost 12 anyways. Walking towards the parking lot, my mind is lost in thoughts of both Harry, and the nervous, australian boy named Luke. Still smiling, I look up, and stop in my tracks. Parked in front of me, is a black Chevy, and sitting in the front seat, is none other than Harry, his hands gripping the wheel, and his emerald green eyes staring straight into mine.
