"Ben!" Rey cries as she runs into his invisible arms.

Only force users can see force ghosts, and as Poe doesn't use the force, he can't see Ben.

"She's going crazy, he mumbles over to Finn.

Finn, despite his indifference towards the former Sith Apprentice, sees him. "It's Ben. He's a force ghost. I didn't know they let men like him turn into those things..."

Rey and Finn can hear Ben as he starts to speak.

"Rey, I need to tell you something."

Rey pulls away from Ben to reply, a steady flow of joyful tears falling down her face. "You know you can tell me anything."

Ben's eyes are serious, his blue hue flickering under the shade of the trees. "Meet me here tomorrow at dawn. And make sure it's just you."

As quickly as he appeared, he's gone.

Rey turns back to Poe and Finn, the tears still fresh on her face.

Finn decides to break the silence. "What the hell was that all about?"

"I don't know. He... he said he has to tell me something. I just have no idea what it could be..."

*the next day*

Rey opens her eyes and sits up. She heaves herself out of bed and pulls on the nearest items of clothing she can find.

There's a sudden knock on the door. Walking towards it, she opens it to see Finn.

Finn Pov

"I just came here to say that I'm sorry for the way I acted about... about Ben."

I really am. I may not trust him, but I do have to respect him because of Rey.

Rey only nods curtly at me, eyes fixated on what's outside her window

"I'm sorry, Finn, but I have to go," she says suddenly, putting her hair up as she sprints for the door.

I'm confused. I don't know why she's in such a rush when the day has only just begun.

Oh wait. It's dawn.

And of course she doesn't want to be late to meet with Kylo...

Rey Pov

I'm running as fast I can towards the treeline. All I can think about is seeing Ben again.

Things just feel so... unfinished, between us.

I need to know what he has to say.

When I'm finally hidden in the undergrowth, away from the sun's warm rays, I see him.

And there's someone else.

I cry out her name with joy. "Leia!"

Leia POV

Rey looks as young and innocent as ever. I wonder how she'll react to what we're about to tell her.

"Hello, Rey," I smile at her. "I'm sure you know why we're here."

Rey tilts her head to the side, eyes bright. "Yeah, Ben told me he needed to tell me something. What is it?"

I frown, knowing that her whole life is about to change. "You may want to sit down."

She does as I've advised, sitting down on the floor with her legs crossed.

I turn to Ben, waiting for him to say something. But he's suddenly shy. He never did have a good way with words.
