With the woman at the door still staring awkwardly at them, Rey speaks. "Are you Iris?"
The woman still looks confused. Yes, and who are you?"
"Well, I-I'm Rey," Rey starts, feeling nervous. "And this is my daughter, Padme."
"Oh, great," Iris rolls her eyes. "Another 'Padme Amidala' fanatic who's come to meet the family."
"No!" Rey protests. "No, that's not it at all. My daughter is actually Padme's great-granddaughter!"
Iris looks even more confused now. "But I thought all the Skywalkers were dead?"
"Well, no, um... Padme's the last."
Iris is still for a second before she completely shifts, grinning widely. "Well, my stars, how are you?"
"Really? You don't need any more proof than that?"
"Heavens, no! Come on in!"
Rey urges a shy Padme forward."She takes a bit of time to warm up to people, but after a little while, she talks a lot."
Iris smiles and says, "Let me go and get my daughter. You two look around the same age."
Iris leaves the room for a minute, returning with a little brunette girl, around the same height as Padme.
The girl shyly waves. "Hi. I'm Violet."
Padme waves back. "I'm Padme."
"Do you want to come to my room to play?" Violet asked, head tilted to the side.
"Sure!" Padme chirps, following Violet upstairs.
When the girls are gone, Iris turns an eye to Rey, "Do sit down. And would you like anything to drink?"
Rey swallows nervously. "Just water, thanks."
Iris leaves, and returns within a few minutes to sit opposite Rey. "So. How did you find us?" she inquires, a suspicious glint in her eye.
Rey is about to say something when, suddenly, Ben appears out of nowhere. Iris screams.
"They're here at the request of my mother, grandmother, and great-aunt, Sola Amidala," says Ben, completely freaking Iris out.
"Y-you're a g-g-ghost!" she shudders, covering her mouth. "You're Kylo Ren!"
Rey jumps in to defend him. "He's not Kylo Ren, he's Ben Solo! And the father of my child!"
Iris, still in shock, nods. "Great. Great stuff."
"They'll be staying with you," Ben continues. "It's time they got to know their family."
"I-if that's alright, that is," Rey mumbles. "Wouldn't want to... intrude."
But Iris just nods her head, watching as Ben slowly disappears.
After Iris calms down, she opts to get to know Rey.
"So, um... your daughter!" Iris laughs nervously. "What a cutie."
"Um... thanks," says Rey. "It was her 10th birthday a few days ago, and we got her her first lightsaber."
"Wow. I didn't know that was a gift you'd normally get a child..." Iris trails off. "So, she is force sensitive, then?"
"Yeah, we presumed she would be, just like Ben and I. We are actually starting to teach her some things. So, is Violet...?"
"She is, which was a surprise to us, because it doesn't run in the Amidala family..."
Rey nods and says, "That's fair."
Iris smiles and asks, "Rey, if you don't mind... how did you get mixed-up in this family? Especially with... Kylo Ren?"
"Ben Solo."
"Right. Whatever."
And Rey tells her the entire story. About her, about Ben... she also answers any questions Iris has about literally anyone else in the Skywalker family.
When she's done, Iris is blown away.
"That's... a lot to take in, but wow, are you brave!"
"Thanks," Rey gushes, her face reddening a bit.
After a few more minutes of conversation, Iris asks, "Would you like to unpack and get settled?"
Rey nods. "That would be lovely, thank you."
Iris leads Rey upstairs to unpacked, change, and to check on Padme and Violet.
Iris knocks on Violet's bedroom doorframe. "Are you ok, here?"
"Yes, we are playing with Vader." Padme responds, holding up her Porg.
"You brought him with us?!" Rey exclaims, giving an apologetic look to Iris.
"Yes, dad said I could."
Iris shakes her head. "I guess... it's fine. The thing looks harmless. Now, come, Violet, Padme, we're having dinner in half an hour, so be downstairs soon."
Once the adults leave, Violet turns to Padme. "Hey. There's some cool 'Naboo' clothes you can wear with me tomorrow if you want!"
"Okay!" Padme squeals. "We can be twins!"
The next day...
As Rey and Iris eat breakfast, waiting for their girls to come downstairs, they catch a flash of yellow in the corners of their eyes.
Violet and Padme walk into view, looking just like sisters.
"Awww!" Rey and Iris say in unison.
The two girls were wearing yellow off-the-shoulder dresses, their hair curled and in two buns with a hair piece keeping the buns in place.
"You're like twins!" Rey says.
Padme giggled and twirled, Violet following suit.
"Do you two dressed-up little ladies want to go to the market with us?" Isis asks them.
Violet and Padme shake their heads.
Rey nods, exchanging a look with Iris. "Alright, then. You two stay here, and don't do anything stupid. We'll be back soon."
With that, Rey and Iris leave, kissing their respective daughters' foreheads before walking off to the nearby market.
The first stall they encounter has fruits such as pears. They buy a few of those, walking over to a few other stalls to buy more items.
"Ooh, look! They have green milk over there," says Iris, pointing to a stall a few metres away.
Rey shakes her head in disgust. Since she got back from Ahch-to, she vowed to never go anywhere near that stuff again.
As they walk back to the house, a man with antennae approaches them. "Do you want to buy some death sticks?"
Rey looks him up and down and replies, "No, man, get outta here!."
The man wanders off and Iris laughs. "Don't worry too much about him. He's always hanging about here."
The two women finally get back to the house.
But something's wrong. Padme and Violet are nowhere to be found.
"Violet? Padme?!" Iris calls, her worried eyes turned to Rey. "Where in the universe are they?"
