Palpatine, Organa, Solo and Skywalker Eyes

Rey lays down on a small, grassy hill. Beside her is Padme, now 9 years old, about to turn 10.

They are often visited by Ben, who Palme is able to see because of her force sensitivity.

"Hey, mom?" Padme asks. "Why can I only see dad sometimes, and why can't anyone else see him?"

Rey smiles at her daughter, ruffling her hair. "I think you're ready to learn about your family. When dad, shows up again, you can ask him all the questions you want. I think he'd love to answer them."

Padme smiles as Rey kisses her forehead.

The two eventually fall asleep on the grass together, under the shade of a big, fluffy tree.

"Happy 10th birthday!"

Padme wakes up to her mom standing in the doorway. She sits up in bed and grins widely. "Is dad here? Is he gonna tell me about our family?"

Rey laughs a bit, adoring her daughter's enthusiasm. "Let's just head to the kitchen for a big birthday breakfast. And we have presents!"

Padme squeals with excitement and runs out of her room.

After eating, Rey hands Padme her first present. "This is from Poe and Finn. They couldn't make, it but we are seeing them next week on Kef Bir."

Padme rips open the box to see a resistance pilots helmet. She puts it on and exclaims, "I love it!"

She takes it off as Rey gives her another present. "Be very careful with this one! This is from Rose, Connix and Jannah. Again, they couldn't make it, but they are coming to visit in a couple of days."

She tears open the present and sees a Porg, chirping and reaching up to her with its little wings. "AWW! I'm naming it Vader!"

Rey laughs, slightly uncomfortable with the choice of name, and gives Padme another present.

After a few more presents, there remains only one left. It was the one Rey was saving for last.

Padme opens the box to see a beautiful lightsaber hilt.

"We are going to get you a kyber crystal to go in it," Rey smiles at her.

She knows it's traditional for a young force-user to pick out their own crystal from the kyber caves, but she's afraid of Padme getting hurt. So she's opted to do that part on her own.

"Can it be purple?" Padme asks, hugging her newest gift.

Rey giggles. "You don't get to choose your favourite colour. The crystal becomes the colour best fitting to your personality. You'll probably get yellow, like mine."

Padme starts whipping the hilt around as if it were activated. Rey feels as though her heart is glowing with joy.

"Ok, now come to the lounge. I think there's some people who want to meet you!"

Padme runs to the lounge, shrieking happily as she sees Ben standing next to Leia, Luke, Anakin, and Obi-Wan.

"Who are they?" Padme asks.

"These..." Rey starts, putting her hand on her daughter's head. "...are the Skywalkers. And one Kenobi. Nevertheless... this is your family."

Ben walks towards his daughter, kneeling in front of her as he gestures towards Leia. "This is your nan, Leia Organa." Then over to Luke. "This is Luke Skywalker, your great Uncle. He's Leia's twin brother!"
