Part II - opening

This part of the story is set seven years after the previous part. It all starts on Naboo with Padme and Violet's birthday party...

"Open it!" Theo exclaims, probably more excited than Violet.

She laughs and replies, "I am."

She rips open the box and pulls out an orange jumpsuit. "Oh my God! A Resistance pilot outfit!"

She turned to face Poe, and he says, "I know how much you want to fly for the resistance."

Violet smiles widely at him. "After we've opened the rest of the presents, I'll try it o-"

Theo interrupts her. "Now, Padme's turn!"

They all laugh while Theo gives Padme a box. She rips it open and pulls out a pair of Jedi robes.

"We heard you ripped your last ones," Finn shrugs.

After a few more presents, Padme turns to Theo. "We have something for you! It's nearly your 10th birthday, so we decided to give you one early present."

Theo jumps up and down before he takes a box from Rey.

"Be careful with it!" she instructs him, cringing outwardly.

Theo places the box on the floor and cautiously opens it. "A Porg!" he cries with enthusiasm.

"What are you going to name it?" Violet asks.

"Chewbcca," Theo grins, staring with loving eyes at the Porg.

Connix laughs as he interrupts the scene, shaking his head at Theo and the little Porg. "Dinner is ready!"

After they finish their food, they receive a transmission from some of the old Resistance gang. They open the hologram and see Chewie, Lando and Jannah. The eight of them gather around the projection.

Jannah is the first to speak. "We are so sorry that we couldn't be there today, we are stuck on Bespin at the moment... I promise, we will visit as soon as we can."

"It's alright," Padme assures her.

"We liked our gifts by the way, thank you," Violet mentions offhandedly.

"No problem, kid," Lando smiles at her.

Chewie butted in, growling an, "ARRRRGHGHR."

"Yes, we did, he liked it, didn't you, Theo?" Poe asks his son.

"Yes, I named him after you!" Theo grins at Chewbacca.

"ARRGHHEREHR!"

They talked for a while before going to bed.

"Gonna have to call it a night. We'll see you in the morning!" Finn waves at Chewie, Lando and Jannah as they do the same, hanging up.

"Oh and thank you for letting us stay in your house," Finn says to Rey, sincerity in his words.

"What else were we going to do with the spare room?" Rey jokes.

"True... well, goodnight!"

"Night."

The next morning, Padme woke up and changed into one of her great-grandma Padme's dresses. She then went down to the market to buy some food.

The first stall had fruit, so she went over there. The person running the stall was a boy, around 19. He had brown hair and was wearing Jedi robes.

"Hi, I would like to buy some pears," she greets him."

He grabs a bag and asks, "How many?"

"Five will do."

He picks them up individually and places them in the bag.

"I see you're wearing Jedi robes. I'm a Jedi, too!" Padme chirps.

The boy stops what he's doing and looks up. "Really?" he eyes her with skepticism. "I'm not buying it. Where are your robes?"

Padme rolls her eyes. "I'm wearing this because it belonged to my great-grandmas, Queen Amidala." She then takes out her lightsaber from her leg holster. "See?"

He raises an eyebrow at her. "So, your great-grandma was Padme Amidala?" he exclaims, half shocked, half confused.

"I try not to make such a big deal but yes, my Nan is Leia Organa and my Dad was her son." Padme smiles at him, a twinge of pride in her chest.

"So, your name is?"

"Padme. The second."

He laughs, and gives her his hand to shake. "I'm Sawyer... hey, seeing as you're a Jedi, there's something I think I need to tell you in private. Are you free tomorrow?"

"I think so, yes."

"Meet me on the fields at lunch."

"Ok, I'll bring the pears along. Speaking of which, how much?"

"No charge- for the Queen."

"Thank you!"

He smiles at her, and Padme continues on her way.
