"Let's leave before more come" Vella was panting, out of breath, a thick river of blood trickling from her hair and down the side of her face.

The storm of shouting began.

Explicit obscenities shot at each other, looking for a finger to point at for the locals attack. The shouting was a heavy, violent blanket in the air, taking away the focus of our mission. In a matter of minutes, peaceful air was polluted with rage and tired shouts.

"It was Kam, I saw it myself" one voice spat verbal poison at the other.

"No, I saw you toying with their shit" they screeched back, fist curling into a tight fist, stepping dangerously closer to the other. They sized each other up, ready to pounce.

"Shut your mouth, I would never"

We were planning on leaving but out of nowhere, everyone started at each other's throats.

"SILENCE"

Everyone's eyes snapped to the familiar voice and everyone backed down instantly, not another word being said in fear of being a victim of a worse person.

"I will not have my team have an in fight, not at a time like this" Vella's voice powered over everyone's, silencing the fighting

"What does she mean 'at a time like this'?" Anj frowned, eyes locked on everyone around us, trying not to seem obvious.

"I don't know" I whispered, trying not to aggravate the already pressed woman. I shrugged, eyes catching sight of my hand that held Laurence's injured one, still utterly confused at what had happened.

"I don't think I wanna know" Anja mumbled, complimented by a side glance down at me. I couldn't help but smile like an idiot. She was so easy to talk with, I couldn't describe the feeling.

"Can we all grow up?" Vella announced to the group, her voice filled with agitation, anger boiling behind it, and our actions adding like gasoline to the fire growing in her temper.

"Please" she added against her will, just to be the bigger person amongst the group who were still aching for a fight.

With no answer (mainly because we were all too frightened to say anything), Vella commenced to her ship. Everyone looked back and forth, eyes squinting still aching for something other than peace.

With a firm clap of her hands, everyone snapped out of their stare off and all silently bumbled to their jets.

My eyes darted from Anj to Laurence who was now laid out on a temporary stretcher. Unable to fly his own jet, I was ordered to carry him in the back of the main carrier, a small transporter. Anja helped me carry him in and get him comfortable before heading to her X-Wing.

We all flew in complete silence, only the occasional order coming through the commlinks, other than that, not a word was said.

I cupped Laur's cheek in my hand.

It was cold.

I flinched away at first, shocked from the touch. In the scorching heat, every inch of his skin was ice cold. I was almost jealous as the heat started to get to me. I wanted nothing more to be in the fields of D'Qar, roaming on a free day, endlessly and aimlessly walking around, along with my thoughts and feelings.

"It'll be alright" I smiled, saying it to Laurence's unconscious state, I felt like he could hear me, even if he wasn't responding. The ride was smooth as ever, with no interruptions and no surprise ambushes.
