All I heard was the soft laugh of my mother and father, slowly fading into the distance.

͙⁺˚*・༓☾ stars ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙"You look dead" Kam snickered from the opposite end of the table, leaning back casually in her chair, one leg on the seat, clutching her arms around it for support.
"I feel it" I barely pushed out a whisper. My mind wouldn't leave the dream I had the night before, thoughts racing erratically all over the place. A mumble of giggles came at my answer and most people went back to eating their breakfast.
"Are you okay?" Anj leant in slowly from the side, fingertips subtly brushing on mine.
"Yeah, I'm good" I forced a smile up at her, immediately she frown, not believing a single word that slipped from my tongue.
"Don't lie to me Mya" she gushed her voice lower, her hand moving from the table and onto the top of my leg. I jumped at the unexpected foreign contact but relaxed soon enough.
"Seriously, it's all good" I put my hand over hers and squeezed it calmly. She rolled her eyes, making it obvious of her annoyance. In one swift movement she swapped out hands over so hers was over mine.
"I'm no idiot" she scoffed, chuckling quietly.
"I know" I giggled, head hanging low, my eyes struck on where her hand made a comfortable home on my thigh.
A heat rushed to my face, I wanted to cower away and cover my blushing red cheeks. I looked up at her through my lashes, I could see her face relaxed into a soft frown, still not satisfied with my answer.
"You're not going to let this go are you" I finally found the courage to meet her eager but soft eyes. Practically ice blue, like the sea washing over sharp rocks staring down at me gently.
"No" her plumped lips parted, revealing her perfectly lined teeth.
"Thought so" I slipped my hand out of hers and brought it back up to the table. Her hand stay on my leg but I could feel her slowly lifting it up.
"Hey lovebirds we gotta get going" Kam shouted out, loud enough for everyone to snap their head rounds to face us. Quickly as she did it, Anj's hand left my leg and jerked up to the table. She laughed it off with Kam and I giggled awkwardly.
