"Wha-" Vella stammered as we walked away

"I told you that you would be perfect for this, didn't I?" Leia grinned uncontrollably, instantly making me smile back.

"Hang in there" I held his still cold hand in mine, gripping my fingers tightly around his palm. I didn't know if he could feel it but something inside me hoped he would. Subconsciously my skin twitched against his, the light rising up the wall from a warm sunrise made itself present in the room.

Under the rising light, the copper hues brushed against the cream walls with sweet kisses. I feel my lips slowly crunch into a smile, a fuzzy feeling curling in my heart. A tragic mix of calm and fear.

Fear for my friends life.

A mellow blue stuck out in the copper light sneaking up the wall, slowly dampening out the warm feeling.

"He'll be alright" the warm soothing voice of someone I knew came from the door. I swung round eagerly and bounded into her arms. Like a second mother, she held me close to her heart, not letting go until I wanted to. She wrapped her arms around my smaller frame,  enveloping me in her caring touch.

With all her glory there she was,  looking like she hadn't aged a day. The same muddy hair that flowed down her back, with not a speck of grey peeking on her head.

"Chin up" she smiled down at me with the same sweetness she always did, dimples creasing at her lips. I couldn't help but smile. I pulled out of her calming embrace.

"Siena" I breathed out her name through tired lips and plopped down on the edge of the bed Laur was spread out on. Siena took her place in front of me, she knew something was wrong. I wanted to tell her about Laur's hand but I didn't think anyone would believe me.

"I don't know what to do" I slapped my hands on my knees, fighting against the tears choking in my eyes. I looked up at the ceiling, holding back potential tears that were threatening to break through. Her brow pinched together, thinking carefully about her words.

"No one ever does" her hand lay on top of mine. Conveying all her understanding which instantly made me feel less worried.

"Can you help me?" I was begging against my straining voice, trying to push away the stress building in my voice but as she sat down beside me, my wall broke down. I choked down on my saliva and leant into her arms, a few tears starting to trickle down my cheek.

"I can try" she ran her fingers through my hair, slowly working through a few rogue tangles and knots she found.

"Something-" i stammered rapidly over my words, trying to think of what to say, borderline spitting out nonsense.
