Summary: Things are tense after the kiss and you have to wait after the concert to get answers.
You finally find your way to Suzy and Holly before the concert begins. Their excitement sort of melts your nerves, though your spine tingles when Arin steps onto stage to kick the concert off. He's wearing a pink t-shirt and jeans, which immediately throws you off. Arin is rarely ever a jeans man whenever you've seen him in class.
"Alright, everyone shut up and get your dicks ready," he shouts, winking in the direction of you and Suzy. "Make some noise for my boyfriends, cumming faster than The Flash and harder than Superman, Ninja Sex Party!!"
The crowd erupts into applause and you try to shake your anxiety. Not many people get a front row seat to a Ninja Sex Party concert. You clap along and cheer, finally deciding to push what happened to the back of your mind for the time being. Danny jogs onto stage, his energy way higher than before. He certainly seems to be in his element. Brian saunters on after him, carrying his keyboard. The dynamic is perfect on stage and you find yourself mesmerized by them both.
"Oh, hell yeah, Glendale," Danny purrs into the microphone center stage. "What is up, you sexy lovelies?"
Your eyes immediately meet and you can't look away. The way he holds the mic stand and tenderly speaks so closely to it makes you shiver. Even when he's onstage, he seems to be looking directly at you. His deep, brown eyes are intense in a different way from what anyone would expect. It's almost impossible to break eye contact once he's noticed you and even then, you'd never want him to.
They begin the concert with Dinosaur Laser Fight and you so badly wish you could've been paying attention. You quickly become entrenched in your own thoughts. Despite your best efforts, all you want to do now is kiss him again...on purpose, hopefully. You watch him dance around the stage and you want to dance with him. His singing makes you want to listen to him all day. It's almost overwhelming. You're almost sick of how enamored you are by him. It's exhausting being into someone that everyone else is  into.
He winks at you. It's like he wants to make sure you're watching him. The concert simultaneously feels too short and centuries long and you begin to spiral into your thoughts. He has something to tell you and not knowing what it could be is eating you up inside. What if he's going to tell you he's interested in someone else? What if he's not interested in a relationship? Your head is swimming with anxious thoughts and part of you wants to just bolt from the concert and go home. You can't get bad news if you're never around to hear it.
Still, TWRP joins the duo on stage and they begin playing songs from the cover albums. Your heart melts and you're tangled up in the music notes again. Danny is a force to be reckoned with and the band is absolutely kicking ass along with him. It feels as if you're under a spell, unable to move and only allowed to listen and fall further into love.
The concert is only an hour, which is surprising. In just an hour, they've managed to cram Starbomb, TWRP, covers, and original music in. Now that it's almost over, you're kind of wishing it could go on even longer. Besides, once the concert ends, Danny wants to tell you...something. Your heart races as the stage clears and everyone in the crowd begins milling about again.
"We're gonna go backstage and congratulate the boys! Wanna come?" Suzy asks, tugging on your arm to get your attention.
"Hm? Oh, yeah, that might be nice," you murmur absently.
Everything seems to move in slow motion as you trail behind Suzy and Holly. They chatter on and on about how great the show was and how excited they are to get dinner, etc. There's absolutely no way to focus on what they're saying. You hardly even notice Suzy turn back to you, expecting a response.
"I was asking if you wanted to com to IHOP with us? We usually go after concerts."
"Maybe, I might have to dip to get some homework done," you reply, satisfied that you're not technically making up an excuse. "Brian's music theory class is killing me."
"Yeah, he's a tough teacher, but I'm sure he'd be willing to tutor you if you need it!"
"Oh, I'm sure he won't mind."
Brian's sudden liking to you is definitely something you've taken notice of. It's flattering for sure, but with all the noise from your fellow classmates in the Host Club, you're hesitant to add him to the mix. Still, being able to go to him for help and have him as a mentor is nice in its own rite.
"Kickass show!" Suzy cheers as the three of you pass the wings and meet Arin and Brian halfway. "You guys did a really great job," She gushes, throwing her arms around them both.
"Aw, Suze," Arin mumbles, sweeping her up into a bear hug.
Especially in this moment, you're wishing you could give Danny the same treatment. You scan the backstage area, hoping to spot him.
"What about you, Y/N?" Brian asked, raising an expectant dark brow.
It's like he has a special 6th sense for being able to detect you thinking about someone else. He's eerily good at catching you off guard and you hate it a little extra in this moment. You fiddle with your sleeve and peer down at your feet. You could bite his head off right now.
"Huh?"
"What'd you think of the show? You are the guest of honor, after all."
His tone is flat and serious, but you're almost certain he's just trying to catch you off your rhythm. Your eyes meet his stern blue ones and he smirks slightly.
"It was fun for sure, although you should speak up when you're on stage," you quip with a casual shrug. "Projection is key, right, professor?"
He snorts, rolling his eyes but smiling all the while. You feel at ease for a moment, but the adrenaline begins pumping again when Danny emerges from his dressing room. Holly waves him over despite you desperately trying to make emergency eye contact with her. You're not ready to do this. Still, he finishes pull his faded Rush t-shirt and strolls over, clearly exhausted. It's like he moves in slow motion when he passes. It's impossible to look away.
"Hey! Thanks again for sticking around. I was afraid I'd missed you guys. Eyeliner is a bitch to take off."
Suzy and Holly take turns word-vomiting about how awesome the concert was and how great of a job everyone did. Dan's eyes flicker from them to you and he seems to be trying to find a way to get to you without cutting them off. You're not sure what to think of the face he's making. He looks like he's longing to talk to you and you're slightly set at ease. That can't mean bad news.
"Oh! Y/N, I was gonna ask you if you wanted to work on our makeup homework together during free period tomorrow-" Arin began, quickly cut off by Brian.
"Maybe after they prove they understood a lick of what I said in class today," he murmurs, shooting a challenging glance at you.
You turn your attention to Danny again. He's scribbling something down on the back of one of the concert programs. He hands it off to Suzy as he's dragged away by a horde of girls from your class. He turns back one last time to look at you, mouthing a guilty 'I'm sorry' as he shuffles down the stage stairs.
"Danny said to give you this," Suzy says, holding out the poorly folded pamphlet. "He's so into you! I knew it!"
You take it, first impressed with how legible his handwriting is. Then, you finally bring yourself to read the message.
"Sorry abt 2night :c Meet me on the roof tomorrow during free period," it reads. "I'll make it up 2 you. Promise."
You suck in a sharp breath. Tomorrow's free period will be...interesting to say the least. Who are you hanging out with in that 45 minutes? Brian, Arin, or Danny?
