10: Hi Boo

It had been a day since Jennifer discovered that Kola was her next-door-neighbor. It seemed like it was a whole joke at first but she was starting to get used to seeing him around. She was constantly telling herself that him being her neighbor might not be the worst thing ever. The fact that she would be seeing him around most times gave her the assurance that she can get comfortable working as his onscreen partner.

She was having her first shoot the next day which was a Monday and she was supposed to be shooting alone so she wasn't so worried about it. Caleb had made sure that both she and Kola got a copy of the scripts for each of the shoots so they could prepare ahead of them.

It was just about mid-day and the sun was not shining so much so Jennifer was really enjoying the cool and calm environment in her living room. She was currently sketching dress designs on her sketchpad, something she had always enjoyed doing. She had a liking for designing and also have laid out plans to bring her designs to reality which means she had to save up for her clothing line, something she had always dreamt of having.

Molly was comfortable snuggled up on Jennifer's laps as she drew on the white paper with her black pencil. Her attention was taken away from the dress she was currently sketching when she saw Kola drive into the large compound. She watched on from her window as he parked his car on his usual spot and got out from the car, along with a young lady. Jennifer couldn't get a good view of the lady's face but she could deduce from the lady's physique that she was younger than herself.

She watched on as the girl went over to Kola's side, whispered something into his ears and nudged him lightly on his shoulder, making Kola to swing his hands around her neck and draw her closer to himself while the girl busied herself with giggling.

Jennifer could understand why she felt a little bit angry at the sight before her and it was because Kola had the guts to flirt with her a day ago despite the fact that he already had a girlfriend. What she couldn't understand was why she felt an ache in her soul seeing him so close to another girl.

She looked on as Kola and the mysterious girl were about entering into the house and finally, she saw what the girl looked like when she turned towards her direction for a brief moment. The girl was dark in complexion and looked younger than her, probably with two years.

Jennifer brought her gaze back to her sketchpad the moment the girl and Kola entered inside his house. She was still working on her design when Molly woke up and jumped down from her laps. It was Molly's meal time and Jennifer knew better than not attending to her when she needed to eat so she walked into her kitchen, got Molly's food pack and poured a portion for her on her plate.

She was still watching Molly consume her food when she heard her phone ringing from the living room. She quickly walked down to pick her phone up and saw that it was Felix that was calling. A smile appeared on her face before she picked up the call.

"Hi baby," Felix's voice came in from the other side.

"Hi boo, I've missed you so much," Jennifer said.

"Yeah, me too. I can't wait to come back to Lagos so we can have enough time to be together again," Felix said. He had informed Jennifer some couple of days ago that he would be traveling to Abuja to cover an event.

"Me too baby," Jennifer said and sat down on her sofa.

"Congratulations babe. I heard of your newest contract. You really deserve it and I'm very proud of you."

Jennifer smiled and replied, "Thank you babe. It means a lot to me you know."

"Yeah I know," Felix said and paused.

"Felix is everything alright?" Jennifer asked, worried at his sudden silence.

"Yeah, everything is alright it's just that, I've been wanting to ask you for a favor," Felix said.

"And what is it?" Jennifer asked.

"You know I've been planning on getting a completely new camera and it's very costly. I was thinking if you could help me with some money," Felix pleadingly asked, his voice very calm as he spoke.

"How much do you need?" Jennifer asked him.

"I need like fifty thousand from you. I can pay you back if you want," Felix said.

Jennifer bit on her lower lip at his demand. She actually had the amount he was asking for but she felt he was becoming too demanding recently. About a month ago, he had asked her for some money to procure an equipment that he urgently needed and she had wasted no time giving him the money. Not even bothering to ask him to pay back since she felt it was her own way of supporting her man but then it seemed like he was taking advantage of her kindness.

"Felix, don't you think that fifty thousand is too much?" she asked, after thinking about the best reply to give to him.

"That's the amount I need Jennifer. I know you have it so why are you holding back?" Felix said, his voice a little bit more desperate now.

"You're right Felix, but I have my own plans too okay. I sent you fifty thousand naira just a month ago without asking you to pay back, and now you want another fifty thousand. I think it's too much and you know that I find it hard to ask you to pay back when I lend you money. I want to give you an amount that you wouldn't need to pay me back." Jennifer concluded and she could hear Felix take in a deep breath before he spoke.

"Alright dear. So how much can you give to me?"

"I can give you twenty-five thousand and you don't have to pay back," Jennifer said.

"That's okay. I would manage that. Thank you so much. You're the best and I love you so much," Felix said and sent kisses to Jennifer through the phone; using his mouth to make the sound of a kiss.

"I love you too. I would send the money to your account after this call."

"Alright dear. I would talk to you later. Bye and keep being beautiful as always," Felix happily said.

"Bye babe." Jennifer said before the call ended and after which, she went back to the kitchen to prepare lunch for herself.
