"Ouch!" Kola winced in pain as he got a nudge from Cynthia, pulling his attention away from Jennifer and Felix.

"You zoned out. You've been staring at the both of them since they started dancing," Cynthia complained.

Kola palmed his head. "I just can't help it."

"Do you like Jennifer?" Cynthia blurted out, taking Kola off-guard.

"I enjoy being around her. There's just something special about her. I can't really explain it Cynthia."

"That means you like her then. You should ask her out," Cynthia said and Kola couldn't help but laugh. Even though Cynthia was twenty-three years old, she still behaved and talked like a baby to him.

"Why are you laughing? I'm being serious right now," Cynthia said and took a sip of her champagne.

"You talk like it is that easy. It's her boyfriend she is dancing with. Do you want me to go over there and pick her up or what." Kola chuckled sadly. For some reasons, he was believing that Jennifer was lying to him about her relationship, not until Felix actually showed up.

"You know when I told you about a junior student that sent a letter to me when I was in secondary school?" Kola asked Cynthia and she placed her index finger in her mouth as she tried to recall.

"Oh yes I do. The beautiful girl with braces and glasses. That was how you described her to me back then," Cynthia excitedly said as she remembered the story Kola had told her years ago.

"That girl is Jennifer," Kola said and Cynthia let out a loud gasp.

"Shush! Do you want to get attention," Kola warned, taking a brief look around them while Cynthia held her lips together, but just for a fraction of a second.

"Does she know that it's you?" she asked.

"Yeah, she does. We both know," Kola quietly said.

"Kola you need to go and talk to Jennifer. She had a crush on you before and it might still be there," Cynthia persistently said, tugging at her brother's suit.

Kola shook his head at Cynthia's words. "I told you already. Her boyfriend is on my way."

"Well, he is out of your way now. Look over there." Cynthia used her head to point towards Jennifer's direction, she was standing alone. No Felix in sight.

"Stay here and don't start talking with any random stranger. Let me just go over and talk to Jennifer okay." Kola was already on his feet.

"Do I look like a baby to you or what? I can take care of myself," Cynthia rebelliously said and Kola laughed at her stubbornness.

"I would be right back," Kola said and left.

Jennifer was still waiting for Felix who had gone to ease himself when she noticed Kola walking towards her, his strides confident as usual. She just stood there and watched as he came closer.

"I was hoping that I can at least get a dance with my onscreen partner. Shall we," Kola boldly said and stretched forth his hands to Jennifer.

"I'm sorry but I can't. My boyfriend would get jealous if he sees me dancing with you," Jennifer rejected his offer, not removing her gaze from him as she did so.

"Hmm... Your boyfriend," Kola said in a thoughtful manner.

"Yes, my boyfriend Felix," Jennifer emphasized.

"Why does it seem to me that you're the only one passionate about the relationship?" Kola asked, and Jennifer's brows got furrowed in surprise.

"What do you mean by that?" she asked and crossed her arms around her chest.

"While you're here rejecting my offer to dance, he is busy practically flirting with another lady. Ironic isn't it?" Kola chuckled.

"Felix went to ease himself, stop saying nonsense," Jennifer defended.

"Nonsense? Look behind you," Kola calmly said and Jennifer out of curiosity looked behind her, immediately getting shocked at the sight before her. Felix had an arm around another lady as he spoke to her, the two of them laughing so keenly, as if they have met before.

Jennifer forced herself to remove her gaze from the annoying sight before her and turned towards Kola. "That is none of your business. Besides, are you not supposed to be spending time with your girlfriend?"

"What girlfriend are you talking about?" Kola asked in confusion.

"You want to play ignorant now? Seriously? I'm talking about the one you brought as your date. The same one that you brought over to your flat for God knows what." Jennifer sighed.

"Cynthia? She is my younger sister," Kola revealed and Jennifer almost died of embarrassment. She had just made a fool of herself in front of no other person but Kola. Her thoughts were scattered all over the place; how come she didn't see the resemblance? And even the way Cynthia acted towards her earlier, it was just so strange, and again she knew that Cynthia was at least two years younger than her. So why didn't that make her to think that Cynthia could be Kola's sister?

"Look who is making assumptions now." Kola smirked at Jennifer.

"Can you blame me? The both of you were acting like two papers that had glue in between them," Jennifer said, finally happy that she could find an angle to use in defending her foolish conclusion.

"We've been like that since childhood. Cynthia is very clingy and I'm fond of her too." Kola shrugged and the two became silent for a short while.

A cocky smile crossed Kola's face. "Tell me Jenny. Did you get jealous seeing me and my sister like that?" he took a step closer to Jennifer.

Jennifer took a step backward. "Why would I?"

"The obvious. You're still attracted to me." Kola boldly stated with a shrug and Jennifer felt the air in her lungs disappear; she couldn't speak.

"Hey baby," Felix came from her back and held her close to himself before looking at Kola.

"We were having some business related discussions. Right Jennifer?" Kola looked at Jennifer who just nodded once, absentmindedly.

"I would leave the both of you now," Kola said and left shortly.

"We should go back to our seat. I need to let my legs rest," Felix said, already moving himself forward, along with Jennifer.

"Who was the lady you were talking to? I thought you said you wanted to go and ease yourself." Jennifer stopped on her track, making Felix to stop also and look at her.

"I just met her some minutes ago," Felix replied with a straight face.

"You met her some minutes ago and you were holding her so close the way I just saw you did?"

"Jennifer you're acting like an overprotective girlfriend right now," Felix muttered.

"No I'm not! I'm just trying to make sure that we draw a line between the both of us and any other random person. It was disrespectful to me seeing you act the way you did with that lady!"

"What has come over you Jennifer!"

"I'm supposed to be asking you that Felix. You've changed a lot. You don't let me know what you're up to, you're always busy and you've even forgotten how to apologize!"

"I know where all this is coming from. It's definitely from Mary. She has been filling your head with nonsense about me!" Felix retorted and started walking away from Jennifer.

It was that same moment that the anchor of the event came in to invite Mr. Maxwell for his speech.
