"Want to let you know that I've started to enjoy being around my dad now that I've finally let go of the past and the feeling I'm getting from spending time with him is really beautiful."
Kola broke the silence that had been between him and Jennifer since they started the journey to her family house five minutes ago. He had told Jennifer that he wanted to go with her to see her family and break the news of his relationship with her to them. It's been a week since they resolved their issues and since Jennifer already had plans to visit her family, she found what he said to come in the perfect timing.
Jennifer looked at Kola, a smile settled on her face. "There is nothing as beautiful as forgiving, Kola. It brings in so much peace into our hearts. The kind of peace that we can never find when we carry the wrongs that people have done us around. I'm very happy that you've let your past go. It means that you're even stronger now."
"You're so right Jennifer. It's a pity that what Caleb did became an eye opener for me but then, I think everything that happened was for the best." Kola spared Jennifer a look. No matter how hard he tried to concentrate on the road before him, he still found himself stealing glances at her. He couldn't tell if it was the way her nude lipstick lined her soft lips perfectly or the way that the black knee-length dress she was wearing fitted perfectly to her delicious curves.
"Kola you don't want us to get into an accident or do you?" Jennifer asked when his staring started to feel like it was searching into her soul and it could even see how much her heart was racing the moment his eyes fell on her.
"I don't mind dying today. As long as it's with you." Kola grinned.
Jennifer gave him an eye roll. "But I do mind. I still have a lot to achieve in life so please, focus on the road."
Kola laughed. "I was just pulling your legs. I too don't want to die yet. Not when I'm yet to get married to the woman of my dreams and raise our kids with her." Kola winked and Jennifer's heart beat skipped at hearing him.
"Good, we're on the same track now," Jennifer replied and a short silence fell between the both of them.
"I finally made the decision of taking over my dad's company." Kola broke the silence.
Jennifer's eyes opened wide at the shocking news. "Really? That must have been a tough decision. Hope it is what you really want."
"Yeah. I'm tired of running away from my responsibilities. Like I told you before, I developed a liking for the course my dad made me to study in preparation for taking over his legacy. The only reason I didn't want to accept it before was simply just to spite him."
"If you love it then go ahead and do it Kola. I'm supporting you all through," Jennifer said.
"You're such a darling Jennifer. How did I even get so lucky? Sometimes I feel like going to wherever Felix lives to tell him thanks for creating a path for me to walk into your life."
Jennifer laughed loudly. "You're crazy Kola."
"Yeah, crazy for you babe." Kola caressed Jennifer's left cheek which was a little bit warm from smiling too much.
"You know, I could really employ my modelling skills in the running of the company. The company stopped bothering itself with making adverts since they became very popular but I have plans to bring back the advertisement. What do you think?"
"You definitely have a good point there Kola. That would boost the popularity that the company already have."
"Thanks. Which of the roads should I take?"
"The one on your right," Jennifer replied. They were at a junction that opened into two different roads.
Kola took the right road, just as Jennifer instructed him and in a matter of few minutes, the signboard of the estate where Jennifer's family home was in view.
