"Your parents are really nice and funny Kola. I enjoyed my time talking with them," Jennifer said to Kola. They were driving back home after spending about an hour at Kola's family home.

"Yeah, they are just something else and Cynthia was even making the whole situation even more awkward," Kola said with a grin as he expertly manipulated the car around a bend.

"Cynthia almost revealed to them my greatest and most embarrassing escapade." Jennifer laughed as she thought of what Cynthia tried to say before Kola had cut her short.

"She talks so much I tell you." Kola chuckled.

"What did you tell Cynthia at the party? She was about saying something before you sent her out," Jennifer inquired.

"Trust me, it's nothing serious. You know how Cynthia loves talking." Kola sighed.

"So you said earlier that you have a younger brother right? What's his name?" Kola immediately changed the topic.

A smile crossed Jennifer's face at his question.
"His name is Johnson."

"Is he still in school or working?" Kola asked.

"Actually, Johnson has little interest in school. My parents had to literally push him before he could even finish with his studies at the University. He prefers making music and attending shows. My mom is already fed up with his habit of keeping late nights because of his musical concerts. I think she is gradually accepting his choice of profession though." Jennifer shrugged.

"I would love to see Johnson one day, he seems interesting and fun to be around." Kola smiled. "I would also love to see your parents one day too," he added and for some reasons unknown to Jennifer, his last statement made her heart to skip a beat.

"That would be nice, you would love them and I'm sure they would love to meet you too." Jennifer spared Kola a glance and saw how concentrated he was with driving.

"Are you checking me out Jennifer?" Kola asked when he noticed Jennifer's eyes on him.

Jennifer quickly diverted her eyes away from him. "Why would I do that?"

"For the very obvious reason." Kola grinned and Jennifer just shook her head and went back to keep her gaze on the road ahead. They were now driving within their estate.

"There is a Camry car parked outside our flat. I think one of us might have a visitor." Kola's eyes were focused on the car in front of him as he spoke.

"I can also see the car. I don't know anyone who might own that car," Jennifer said, after trying to recognize the car.

Kola parked his Lexus just behind the black Camry car and stepped out with Jennifer. They both saw the car open quickly, like whosoever was inside was aware of their presence.

Jennifer saw a tall, brown skin lady just around her age step down from the car, wearing a very tight and short red dress that had a neckline so low that it revealed a good part of her breasts, pairing the dress up with really tall heels. Her face was heavily made-up and her nails newly polished, looking really long. In a matter of seconds, she saw the lady rush over to Kola for a hug but he quickly used his hands to stop her.

"What the hell are you doing here!" Kola spoke with so much anger that it made Jennifer to almost flinch.

"Baby, is that how to greet me after all this while? I've missed you so much you know," the lady spoke and Jennifer noticed how smooth her British accent was.

"Don't even start now. How did you even know that I live hear?" Kola seethed.

"I have my ways you know. Actually, I came to Nigeria because of my grandma's burial so I decided to check on you baby," she replied in a sensual voice.

"Just start going back to wherever you came from because I really don't want to see your face here!" Kola snapped.

"Is it because of this girl," the lady glazed over to Jennifer.

"Beverly leave here now!" Kola snapped and it was then Jennifer realized that the lady before them was Kola's ex. Jennifer found Beverly really pretty and sophisticated as she spared her a quick glance.

"Why are you so angry? I'm sorry baby." Beverly took a step closer to Kola. "What I did to you was so wrong."

"I'm not holding anything against you Beverly. I've moved on and you should do the same too instead of following me around," Kola said with frustration.

"Kola why didn't you ever tell me that you came from a very wealthy family. I just discovered that as I arrived here," Beverly mentioned from the blue.

"And why would I tell you that when you wouldn't stop stealing from me? You didn't even have any respect for the relationship we had for Christ sake!"

"Come on Kola, I said I'm really sorry. I promise I've changed. Just give me another chance please." Beverly went forward and ran her hand on Kola's already tensed arms.

"I would just leave the both of you to talk," Jennifer said and made an attempt to walk away but Kola quickly got a grip of her wrist and brought her to his side.

"The only person leaving is Beverly and not you." Kola glared at Beverly.

"Come on Kola. Have you forgotten about us so soon? We are made for each other," Beverly spoke in a seductive tone, twirling a strand of hair and fluttering her lashes at Kola.

"Do you want me to get the police involved? Don't forget that you stole from me and I still have some evidence," Kola threateningly spoke and watched as worry lines appeared on Beverly's oval-shaped face.

"Come on Kola. Why so serious? I'm leaving now. I just said I should say hi to you since I'm in the country and of course I'm staying for a very short period of time. Bye," Beverly said and with that she got into her car and drove off.

Jennifer watched as Kola started laughing calmly at first before exploding and she couldn't help but join him in the laughter.

"Just when I thought that I would never see her again," Kola said in between his laughter.

"You know I was actually thinking that she's white," Jennifer said.

"No. Her parents are Nigerian but they grew up in London so Beverly had lived all of her life there," Kola's eyes roamed over Jennifer as he spoke.

Jennifer nodded. "That's cool. There is something likeable about her though."

"What's that?" Kola curiously asked.

"I like how she speaks. You've got a really hot ex Kola," Jennifer said.

"Not hotter than you though," Kola said and took a step closer to Jennifer.

"Stop it with the flattering already," Jennifer said and turned away to hide her smile.

"But it's making you blush," Kola stated and lifted Jennifer's chin with his right hand, making her to look at him and then took another step closer to her.

"I meant what I just said Jennifer," he said, looking into her pretty brown eyes.

"T-Thanks. We should go in now," Jennifer stuttered and broke the eye contact.

"Yeah," Kola said and Jennifer walked into the compound while Kola had to get back inside his car and drive in through the gate.
