Reconciling

Your Pov:

I woke up the next morning to a few texts on my phone. One was from Dahlia and the other was from Kristoph.

The one from Kristoph was short.

I expect you at the office on Monday at 8:00 am sharp.

I texted back a quick 'ok', before looking a Dahlia's.

Hey, I need to talk to you. I'll be coming over at 12:00.

I looked at my clock. It was 11:09. I jumped up and got dressed before fixing my hair. I cleaned up my apartment a bit and sprayed some air freshener to brighten the place. I turned on the TV and sat on the couch. Right at 12:00, there was a knock on my door. I opened the door and greeted her, "Come in. Make yourself at home."

We sat on the sofa and I waited for her to speak. She sighed, "Ok, I came here because I need advice. My sister wants to reconcile with me. I haven't spoken to her in years. Like me, she's cut all ties to our mother." I smiled, "You should talk to her if you feel the same. She might really need you." She looked at me, "If I go, will you come with me?" I looked at her, "Where are we going?" She showed me a photo.

It displayed a temple in the snow.

"Hazakura Temple. It's up in the mountains."

I nodded, "As long as we're back by Monday. Now, when are we leaving?"

30 minutes later, the two of us were in my car, driving to this temple. After some urging, Dahlia changed into a sweater dress, leggings, and boots. I threw on a coat and boots. The ride there was comfortably quiet.

A few hours later, we parked the car on the side of the road designated for parking and started walking. 10 minutes later, the temple came into view. We stopped in front of the large doors. I looked at Dahlia.

"Aren't you going to knock?"

She huffed and knocked on the door.

A few minutes later, a short woman in nun's clothing opened the door, "Oh come in, come in. Surely you both must be freezing!" She led us inside and to a main room of sorts. Dahlia spoke to her, "Sister, is Sister Iris here?" The woman nodded, "Oh yes. She's in her room. I'll go get her."

I looked at Dahlia, "Why was she so quick to go get Iris?" Dahlia shrugged, "Sister Bikini was probably expecting us because Iris can never keep her mouth shut about anything."

Sister Bikini came back with Iris.

Iris and Dahlia were clear twins.

The only thing that differentiated them was their hair color.

They stared at each other for a few minutes, before Iris finally spoke.

"You actually came..."

She grabbed Dahlia and pulled her out of the room quickly.

Sister Bikini turned to me, "Follow me dear. I'll show you to a room."

I nodded and started following her. She stopped in front of another door, "Here we are." I looked at her, "Thank you, Sister."

I headed into the room and shut the door behind her. I dropped my bag on the floor and laid on the bed.

It was so soft and warm that I fell asleep almost instantly.
