M a t t i a s P O V:
i sit in my room for a little and just think.
after an hour or so i walk up to the guest room and try to go in but, it's locked.
i go back downstairs and look for the extra key.
when i turn back i see Allie peeking her head from the top of the stairs.
we just look at each other.
"can you be my friend, just for a few minutes?" she asks as light hits her face and i see the puffiness.
i nod my head then walk up to the room.
"Alvaro saw Mariano the other day"
this is where her face began to scrunch up and tense up.
"he's here"
"and i want to bump into him again like i did 5 years ago and just fly back home with him and have everything be okay again" she says.
"i messed everything up, didn't i?"
she was quiet for a second but i knew what she'd say.
"mhm" her voice cracks.
i rub my eyes with the palms of my hands.
"i was so in love with him Mattia" she says softly, like she didn't want to hurt my feelings.
but it hurt a bit.
"i'm sorry"
she half smiles through the pain and just lays down while i sit at the edge of the bed.
"i'm so tired" she says as she balls up into the fetus position.
i could tell it wasn't just because it was late, she was mentally and physically tired. i didn't know what to do.
i just lay next to her and put my arm around her.
"i miss this, just being friends, no stupid feelings"
"so do i" i say.
