"Honey!! Come on, get down here. Breakfast is ready."
"Coming mom!"
The season between the summers and winters is almost here, entering the seasonal charts like a royal queen. Peeping through my window I can see the trees dressed in carnival dress with golden leaves all around. The summer was coming to the end but still there are few weeks left. But what's the use? I need to continue with my not-so-interesting-life and get on with my damn college.
"We are getting late Ray!!! Can you just come down??!!"
"Two minutes mom."
"Meow!!"
Oh well I have a kitty too, Tinker. Golden and fluffy. Growing with no sibling was absolutely difficult. Nobody to share your thoughts and worries. So I adopted tinker. We both understand each other well. She's but smarter than me.
I rushed to the washroom, brushed, freshened up, slipped myself in some boring casuals and ran downstairs. I got down to see dad and mom getting ready to leave with a trolley and a fat suitcase.
"Honey I made some bacon, eggs and cheese muffins. Have it. Also we have a business trip that could last for few days so you need to take care of yourself. I have asked our neighbours to keep an eye here in case there's an emergency." Mom was explaining me as if it's the first time.
My parents are extremely busy business people. They never had time for me. Can't blame them. End of the day you need money to fill your tummy.
"Trip again? Wow. That's great." I was disappointed ofcourse. I wanted to spend this beautiful autumn with them and all they think is about their business.
"We are sorry sweetheart. You know how things are. We will be back within no time and I promise to take you for a family picnic for sure."
Dad kissed my forehead and walked towards the car. Within few seconds they were out of my sight.
The rising temperature of this hot climate was sucking away my energy. I hugged tinker and took her inside with me. To be honest I just stopped bothering about them leaving me alone anymore. For them I'm a grown up adult who should handle everything by her own.
Nevermind
A cool breeze played with my hair, passing chills through my body and suddenly I realised that I'm again late for the college.
