"This is the book of spells - Grimoire. It's the only English edition I have with me. Most of the time the language used by us to write the spells will be only in Gothic version. As far as I know there's only a few humans left that can read it. I owe Jasper for plenty of things therefore this is now my way to help you and him together. Open and have a look." Ivy pushed the book towards me
The covering had a full moon in the center and two half moons on each side. It looked quite fascinating yet I was a bit nervous opening it as I'm pretty much unaware of what's inside.
"You sure I should see it? I hope there won't be any kind of issue right?" I pressed it harder.
"Trust me. I can explain only after you see it."
I nodded and opened it slowly to find a lot of pictures that was unrecognizable to me. Images of stars, flowers, stems, glasses, broken mirrors, planets, some weird creatures, candles, cards and so many that I can't even name them properly. After turning a few pages there were spells on love, revenge, protection, shield, charm, happiness, health, emotions, curse, pain, grief, banishment, sacrifice. The more I turned, the more darker it showed.
"There are both white and black magic in witchcraft. It's always our choice of how awful we want to become. This book will let you see many things like spirits and shadows but for now let's focus on what is required for you the most. No need to go through everything." She took the book from me.
"Will I be able to perform the rituals? Is that possible for a commoner like me?"
"We will work on that. Before that let me ask one more thing. How much do you know about my, Valquor's, Vannesa's and Jasper's powers?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
Why suddenly this question? Is she thinking me as some threat to them. I hope I never made that kind of inkling on her.
"Not much actually. I just know the source but nothing more. But why such sudden question? You think I can be a harm to you all?"
"No no. You got me wrong. I wanted to explain actually what they are capable of and in what way you can use the spells. Let me start from Valquor. You would have already known that he's a zodiac wizard. The celestial phenomena relate to all living creature's activities, be it a mortal or immortal. That's why his powers revolves around all the constellations, stars and other heavenly bodies. His eyes receives the energy. You may not know but humans carry their fate on their forehead. This makes Valquor to see through others easily. Once a person is exposed, he can either help or manipulate them. In short your body and your soul can be controlled by him once he's able to read all your inner attributes. Now you got an idea?" Ivy shook my shoulders.
"Oh my God!!! This funny looking guy was this powerful? Let me breath a bit." I inhaled and exhaled.
"You really look surprised. But no matter what he never used his competence for any baleful purpose." She continued.
"Obviously I can feel his kindness around everyone near him. He surely knows that his potential can be used in a good way." I smiled.
"I agree. So anyways this was all about Valquor. Let's move to Vannesa. How much you think you know about her?" She asked
"Just that she uses some crystals to do magical stuffs. I never got a bit of time to be with her so that's all I could say." I replied.
"She's is more like a guide to all the witches and wizards. She gets her vision from the ancestral spirits and help us to get a straight sight without getting entrapped. But........" Ivy stopped.
"But what?"
"But she's cursed. Cursed with something that cannot be broken."
My heart sank the moment I heard that. How can a guardian angel be cursed?
