The cold dread in my stomach climaxes into a gluttonous roar of agony. Sweat rolls down my face like rain, my hand twisting the doorknob. It's the end for me.
"You."
He walks out of the shadows, his whole body hugged by the darkness. He holds a cane in his hand.
"F-"
"Don't FUCKING speak to me." He yells. "You're gay."
It's not a question. It's not an answer. It's a threat, a promise of what's to come.
"MY son, a gay piece of shit. I've dedicated so much time to you. YOU WON THE COMPETITION. YOU FAT AND VILE AND PATHETIC AND STUPID."
He brings the cane down on my head, hurling me to the floor. My head slams into the lino and I feel a torrent of blood squirt out of my mouth.
"I'm going to make you wish you'd never been born."
He brings down the cane again on my back. The loud thwack as it thunders through the air, hitting my back like a lightning bolt, a thunderstorm in the room. Again and again, I try not to scream. Again and again, I watch my blood splatter against the walls and soak my back.
"do you hear me. DO YOU FUCKING HEAR ME!" He grips his chin in my hands, pulling my neck up In a painful vice.
"Y-y-es father." I gasp.
He flicks a knife out of his pocket, the silver blade glossy and threatening. Sneering, he drags the blade down my face through the middle, the blood seeping, the cut burning, a perfect split. Once it's done, he pushes me onto the floor.
"Get out. GET OUT!"
I crawl out of the door. I don't bother packing- my items are superficial and expensive, just placeholders for any fatherly compassion.
My back is soaked in blood, my face soaked with spit and tears.
Blindly, I stagger out of the door, leaving a dripping trail of blood.
I just... need to... find... help.
Bloody puddles wreath my fingers like rings. My legs shake and- I collapse on the street. Alone, alone, alone. Truly nobody cares.
It hits me like a lightning bolt. Nobody cares about me.
Maybe not even Makoto.
"Byakuya?"
