"Fine, fine. You win! Well done." I blink once, trying to unfreeze my brain. She's just... giving up?
"I've already caused enough despair!" She giggles. "And that's ALL I want. I may be gone, but despair will be around-"
Her eyes explode into a bubbling bloody pink. I watch as her mouth dribbles with blood, her limbs shake and her skin peels off like paper.
"Forever."
I manage to make it to the bathroom in time before I'm sick. I gag afterwards for a few seconds, the taste of venom still overwhelming.
"Byakuya?"
Hearing Makoto's voice makes me throw up again noisily in my lap. Sitting in my own sick, I feel utterly revolting. The Togami name, again being dragged through dirt. Maybes it's good I was disowned.
"Oh, Byakuya." Makoto pads into the room, his beautiful eyes bleary from sleep.
"Don't come near me. I'll give you my sickness." I ignore that we've been sleeping together for the past week.
"You won't. Let me get a flannel." He grabs a flannel and mops up the sick. Shuddering, I make my way to the bedroom and get changed.
I look in the mirror and hiss in disgust at my reflection.
My hair is plastered to my face with undying sweat, and my eyes- once my prettiest feature- are dead, washed out. My skin is flushed and oily from sweat, sunken into my bones. I look like a corpse.
As well as that, I've been being sick
everyday. Whatever illness I've got, it's got it's hands round my throat and isn't letting go.
"Done." Makoto whispers.
I grit my teeth and climb into bed. Makoto wraps his arms round my sunken body.
"I love you so much." He mumbles sleepily.
"I love you too." My shoulders slump into him.
"I'm sorry for-"
"Don't worry. You're sick. Are you coming to school today?"
I've been going the last week, but everything goes in one ear and out the other, drowned by a roaring headache.
"Yes."
"Ok. Really? You're Ill, Byakuya."
"I can't hang around you're place all day." I wriggle with shame.
"You can. Komaru loves you. My dad..."
he gives a soft little giggle that makes my heart melt. "I can't believe he hasn't figured out we're dating yet." He giggles.
"I know." Makoto's father is nice, but more than a little dense when it comes to relationships. Makoto's mother is divorced- nobody talks about her in the house.
"I better get ready for school..." He mumbles. "Ugh..." He pulls the covers over his head and squirms around like a worm.
"What are you doing?" I mutter.
"Goodbye..." He whispers, and scrambled away, plopping onto the floor below the bed.
"Honestly." I smile a little as my boyfriend walks over to the bathroom and starts getting dressed.
My phone dings, and I reach over to grab it.
I look at the screen.
