Chapter 3: One last drive

We then cut to Bumblebee and Ironhide having a private conversation in Spike's garage where Bumblebee asks Ironhide how Prime and the old crew are doing, and Ironhide tells Bumblebee not-so-good, showing him Cliffjumper's broken horn Ironhide telling Bumblebee that Cliffjumper is dead, killed by Decepticons and that the director of N.E.S.T. is looking for a replacement to take his spot on team prime, and as it turns out they see Bumblebee as the perfect candidate. Bumblebee tells Ironhide that he's not so sure as he still wants to stay with Spike as his guardian, saying that the Allspark shard he wears around his neck makes him a prime target for any Decepticons who may be lurking around. Ironhide tells Bumblebee that he understands his affection for Spike as he has a similar affection for Kicker but he needs to not worry so much about the boy saying that he can take care of himself. Bumblebee then sits down and tells Ironhide to let him think about it. Ironhide puts his hand on Bumblebee's shoulder and tells him that everything's going to be alright and whatever choice he makes Optimus will be sure to understand. Ironhide then transforms into his pickup truck mode and drives off. we then cut to Spike telling his parents that he has a confession to make: that he doesn't want to go to college. Irving and Sarah are taken aback by this, Sarah asking her son why he would say that. Spike then tells his mom that his dream isn't to go to some dumb University and deal with grades and exams and other boring stuff like that, his dream is to follow in his father's footsteps by joining the military and fighting on the front lines to serve his country. Sarah protests, telling her son absolutely not as she would rather not have her only child get himself killed in the middle of a battlefield before telling spike that he's getting enrolled at Princeton university whether he likes it or not. Spike begs his father to let him join, however Irving tells Spike his mother is right as it's too dangerous. Spike gets frustrated with his parents and storms off while Carly and Kicker watch, Kicker sarcastically saying that he's enjoying the family drama followed by Carly comically splashing punch in his face. we then cut to Spike entering the garage where he sees Bumblebee sitting there sulking. Spike sits next to Bumblebee and tells his yellow robot friend that he's going to college, Bumblebee congratulates Spike saying that he's happy for him, however Spike tells Bumblebee that's the problem explaining that he doesn't want to go to college he wants to join the army and fight on the front lines but his parents won't allow him because it's "too dangerous" even though he very much knows the risks and is willing to die serving his country, saying that he already proved himself of being capable in combat when he fought alongside the Autobots in the battle to protect the Allspark from the Decepticons two years ago, Spike looking at his Allspark shard pendant saying that he wishes his parents would understand. Bumblebee tells Spike that he does understand, saying that Ironhide told him that N.E.S.T. wants to bring him back into the fold as a member of team prime, but he still wants to stay with Spike and be his guardian to protect him from the Decepticons. Bumblebee then gets an idea and tells Spike that maybe he should take him to college with him, but that idea gets shot down by Spike who tells Bumblebee that freshmen aren't allowed to have cars which makes Bumblebee sad. Spike then tells Bumblebee "i know being seperated from each other sucks, but moving on is a part of life. I'm a human, you're an Autobot." Spike then hugs Bumblebee's leg and tells him "Don't worry about me I'll be fine, you belong with Optimus Prime and the others. not stuck here cooped up in my dad's garage. but you'll always be my first car". Bumblebee then asks Spike if they can go on one last drive together, and Spike responds by saying "i thought you'd never ask". Bumblebee then transforms into his Camaro mode and spike hops in followed by Bumblebee driving spike down to the same lakeside where they first met. Spike hops out of the car followed by Bumblebee transforming into robot mode to watch the sunset with Spike. Bumblebee then pats Spike on the head telling him "i'm gonna miss you little buddy" and Spike resonds by saying "me too".
