Chapter 6: First day of college

we then cut back to the Witwicky household where we see Spike helping his mom pack up his things to get ready to go off to College, only for Sarah to find an old pair of tiny sneakers from when Spike was five which makes her feel all nostalgic. she dangles the shoes in her son's face and tells him that she can't believe the little boy that was once small enough to wear these shoes is now a grown man ready for college. Spike then tells his mom to get those things out of his face, however Spike's mom hugs him and begins to tear up. Sarah tells her son that she's so proud of him and she's going to miss him. Spike then tells his mom that he'll be fine, followed by Sarah telling him to hurry up and get in the minivan she doesn't have all day. Spike then hops in the minivan with his mom before they drive through downtown Mission city, passing by the statue of Team Prime. Spike's mother comments to her son "I can't believe that it's been two years since your little space buddies landed on Earth and saved the planet from an invasion". Spike explains to his mother that Optimus Prime is a true hero, saying that he's trying to create a better future for humans and Autobots alike. Spike's mom raises an eyebrow, asking her son "you mean the semi truck?". Spike corrects his mom saying "his name is Optimus Prime" while Sarah rolls her eyes and says whatever. we then cut to the surface of Titan where we see Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Slipstream, and Jetfire bring Soundwave back to The Nemesis. Megatron is glad to see Soundwave back in one piece all the while Soundwave kneels down to pet Ravage. Megatron notices that the Seekers have also brought back a new recruit, followed by Starscream introducing Megatron to Jetfire, saying that he was an old friend of his before the war. Megatron shakes hands with Jetfire, welcoming him to the Decepticon ranks before ordering a pair of drones to take Jetfire and show him around the Nemesis. Ravage then hops back into Soundwave's chest before Soundwave presents the Allspark shard he acquired to Megatron, telling him that he found this one in Shanghai. Starscream presents the Allspark fragment he found in the Arctic to Megatron as well, telling him he used this one to free Jetfire from his icy prison. Megatron congratulates both of them on their efforts in successfully retrieving two shards of the Allspark, saying that The Fallen will be pleased. we then cut to Jetfire lying on an operating table where he is being operated on by Decepticon drones, branding him with the Decepticon insignia and turning his optics from blue to red. the drones also integrate a couple of weapon upgrades into Jetfire's body which includes a rocket launcher and shield, which makes Jetfire uncomfortable due to him being a pacifist who doesn't believe in violence, but goes with it anyway due to believing that the Decepticons are fighting for peace and justice thanks to Starscream's lies. we then cut to Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Slipstream, and Jetfire entering the throne room to kneel before The Fallen. Megatron tells The Fallen that his underlings have successfully retrieved two shards of the Allspark. The Fallen is pleased to hear this news, and uses his telekinesis to levitate the two Allspark fragments towards his hand, telling Megatron that he has done well. Starscream then tells the Fallen that his friend Jetfire is an Archaeologist with an expertise in ancient technology from the age of primes, saying that his search for the long-lost star harvesters was what led him to this star system. Jetfire's knowledge could be of use to the Decepticon cause, as he could help lead them to the missing star harvesters. The Fallen then uses his telekinesis on Starscream to peer into his mind, discovering that Starscream is hiding a dark secret from Megatron who asks Starscream what he's hiding. Soundwave then plays back an audio clip of Starscream from the first rewrite: "Megatron is dead, I saw him fall with my own two optics!". Megatron looks at Starscream and demands Starscream to tell him what he was talking about. Starscream then confesses to Megatron that he was the one who shot down his pod and caused him to be frozen in the ice for centuries, all because he wanted Megatron out of the way so he could take over as Decepticon leader. Megatron gets angry upon hearing this, scolding Starscream for being responsible for all those years of helplessness. Megatron then beats up Starscream, followed by Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, and Slipstream rushing to Starscream's aid. Megatron points his fusion cannon at Starscream and tells him "you sycophantic backstabber, I should have extinguished your spark a long time ago. letting you live was a mistake I vow never to make again" only for Jetfire to come to Starscream's defense refusing to let Megatron hurt his best friend. Megatron begrudgingly spares Starscream and tells Jetfire to keep an better eye on his "friend" for him. The Fallen asks Megatron why he keeps this "Starscream" around saying that he's useless. Megatron then tells The Fallen that's not entirely true, as Starscream did bring them Jetfire who's archaeological knowledge could help them locate the Star Harvester so they can use it to destroy that disgusting mudball of a planet they call Earth and create enough Energon to re-fuel this ship so that they can finally return to Cyberton. The Fallen tells Megatron it's not that simple, explaining to Megatron that the technology of Star Harvesters was forbidden by the primes after he used it on the primitive world of Torkulon (the alien planet we saw get destroyed in the prologue) which got him banished from the council of primes for planetary genocide. the remaining Star Harvesters he had built were most likely destroyed by the followers of the primes. for now they must prioritize finding the Allspark fragments first. The Fallen then tells Megatron that he senses the next fragment is in the possession of a human child. Megatron growls upon hearing the mention of the child, telling his master that he is all too familiar with this particular fleshling, he was the one who helped the Autobots shatter the Allspark two years ago. Megatron then turns his back on The Fallen and walks away. The Fallen asks Megatron where he thinks he's going, and Megatron tells his master "you told me that the only way to prove myself worthy of being your successor is to slay a prime, right? well I'm gonna prove it, by killing the last prime". The Fallen tells Megatron that he is a fool, reminding him of his previous defeat at the hands of Optimus Prime. Megatron tells The Fallen that won't happen again, as this time he'll have backup. the Constructicons then emerge from the shadows: Dirt Boss, Scrapper, Mixmaster, Long Haul, Hook, Scavenger, and Bonecrusher. We then cut back to the Witwickys arriving at Princeton University, New Jersey. Spike kisses his mom goodbye and tells her "love you, mom" before grabbing the box full of his stuff and sets foot on campus for the first time. Spike is in awe of the place, walking past several students until he enters his new dorm room where he meets his two roommates: top-grade science nerd Chip Chase and enthusiastic Transformers fangirl Elise Presser. Spike introduces himself to the two all the while Chip develops a fascination with Spike's pendant, asking where he got that. Spike then tells Chip that it's made from an unearthly metal that came from Outer space. Chip examines Spike's pendant and deduces it as a piece of the Allpsark. Chip recognizes Spike as THE Spike Witwicky, saying that he saw him fighting alongside the Autobots on the news two years ago. Elise then hugs Spike's arm, which makes Spike uncomfortable. Chip tells Elise to let Spike go, and Elise tells Chip "back off, he's MY boyfriend now!" however Spike tells Elise that he already has a girlfriend which makes Elise disappointed. Chip tells Spike that Elise is a huge fan of the Autobots, to the point where she writes fanfiction of herself going on adventures with Optimus Prime and his crew. Elise then shows Spike her collection of Transformers action figures displayed on her shelf. Spike is shocked to see that merchandise of the Autobots exists, saying that they must have become quite the celebrities. Elise tells Spike that Optimus Prime's team have become world-famous to the point where they have T-shirts, mugs, bobble-heads, and even a cartoon show based on their adventures. Elise turns on the TV showing an episode of the original generation 1 cartoon (because who doesn't love a good meta reference?) a cute little orange robot then rolls around Spike's legs much to his confusion and starts making beeping noises at him. Spike can't understand what the little robot is saying and Chip picks up the tiny robot, telling the little guy not to venture out of his closet unless he says so. Spike is confused as to how Chip can understand the little robot, and Chip introduces Spike to Wheelie, his pet science project he built from a bunch of used car parts. Spike is amazed at how someone like Chip (who is the same age as Spike) was able to build a real working Automaton from a couple pieces of scrap, complimenting Chip's amazingly high IQ. Chip thanks Spike, telling him that he's been trying to pursue a degree in robotics. Elise tells Spike that he'll fit right in, but Spike confesses to both of them that he just doesn't wanna be here. Spike goes on to explain to both Chip and Elise that he never wanted to go to college, saying that he's no good at smart people stuff and that he wanted to join the military like his father and serve his country, but his over-protective mom wouldn't allow him to sign up for the armed forces which is why he got stuck here. Spike puts it best by saying "I'd rather put my finger on a gun than I would a pencil". Chip pats Spike on the back, assuring him that he'll adjust to the College life fine, it just takes time. Chip then tells Spike to hurry or they'll be late for class before he and Elise walk out the door with Spike following suit while little Wheelie watches before closing the door. after that, we cut to Soundwave arriving at the campus in his Balkan MK7 vehicle mode before deploying Laserbeak to spy on the boy. we then cut to Spike, Chip, and Elise attending class where we see the professor lecturing to the class on Astronomy. Spike is starting to fall asleep, only for Chip to elbow Spike telling him to stay awake and listen. Laserbeak then lands on the roof of the campus and stares at Spike through the window, eyeballing his Allspark fragment pendant. Laserbeak reports to Soundwave that he has found the shard. Spike is distracted from class when he sees Laserbeak watching him through the window before Laserbeak flies off before anyone can notice him. the professor notices Spike turning his head and gets irritated with Spike's perceived lack of an attention span. he then points to Spike, saying "YOU. young man, if you can't pay attention and listen like everyone else, then get out of my class". Chip and Elise then look at Spike as he walks out of the classroom. we then cut to Spike walking through the campus grounds being followed by Wheelie who beeps at Spike all the while Laserbeak watches at them from above. Spike tells Wheelie to leave him alone, telling the little orange robot that he can't understand a word he's saying. Wheelie then electrocutes Spike, which makes Spike angry calling Wheelie a piece of junk before kicking poor Wheelie repeatedly. Chip and Elise both arrive on the scene, Chip asking Spike what he did to poor Wheelie. the little robot then beeps at Chip who is shocked to hear that Spike called Wheelie a piece of junk. Chip tells Spike that was awfully mean of him, followed by Spike facepalming and telling Chip that Wheelie is just a makeshift robot made from scrapmetal saying that Bumblebee could easily crush that thing with his massive foot. Elise is shocked to hear that Spike knows Bumblebee, and Spike tells Elise that Bumblebee is, or rather WAS his guardian before the two decided it would be best to go their separate ways. Chip asks Spike what he did that ticked off the professor, and Spike tells Chip that he saw Laserbeak out the window. Chip asks who Laserbeak is, and Spike explains to the two that Laserbeak is this big metal bird who's Soundwave's pet and that he believes the Decepticons are spying on him and they're after his piece of the Allspark. Spike then gets on the ground and starts wigging out due to being extremely stressed out at the thought of him being followed by Decepticons. Chip and Elise stare at Spike's nervous breakdown and start to think that he's gone "cuckoo for coco puffs" before grabbing Spike by the arms and dragging him back to their dorm room. Spike lies on the bed and tries to take deep breaths while Chip tells Spike that maybe some food will calm him down and offers him a large pepperoni pizza from Domino's (yay product placement!). Spike then starts munching on a slice of pizza before grabbing Chip's laptop. Chip asks Spike what he's doing with his laptop, and Spike tells Chip that he needs to make a call to a couple friends. Spike then asks Chip what his password is, and Chip tells Spike that his password is "AutobotsRule". Spike asks Chip if Elise picked out that password for him, and Elise confesses that she did. Spike logs into Chip's laptop and and makes a Skype call with Carly and Kicker. both are happy to see Spike, Carly asking Spike how his first day of college went. Spike then makes the snarky comment "horrible, how were yours?" followed by Kicker telling Spike that he managed to make the college football team. Carly tells Spike that she's been excelling at her automotive classes, saying that she's been trying to make her daddy proud. Spike then tells Carly that he believes the Decepticons are after him and his Allspark shard pendant and tells them that if anything happens to him he just wants to let them know that the three of them will always be friends. Spike hangs up the call while Chip and Elise stare at him awkwardly and Wheelie beeps in confusion, only for Laserbeak to crash through the window and grab Spike in his massive talons and carry him away. Chip stuffs Wheelie inside his backpack before he and Elise try to follow the massive metal bird on foot, but they are not fast enough to catch up to him. Spike then tries to call Carly and Kicker on his phone, but he ends up dropping his phone on the ground. Chip and Elise find the phone, and Chip tries to answer it only for Carly to ask Spike if he's okay. Chip tells Carly that this is not Spike and introduces himself as Chip Chase, a friend of Spike's and explains to Carly that Spike has been kidnapped by some kind of giant metal bird. Carly tells Chip that this is worse than she thought and that she and Kicker will be on their way. we then cut to Laserbeak dropping Spike into the back of Soundwave's vehicle mode before Soundwave drives off with the captive Spike in tow.
