Yori Pov
Am I in some kind of simulation? How on earth did I get here?
I watched around looking at all the huge trees that surrounded me. My mind was a puzzle missing pieces right now. Xiomara and Tyler who were right beside me were looking just as baffled as I was. Xander, Brooklyn, and Lucas weren't with us, only the three of us were together.
"I'm dreaming aren't I, because a second ago I was falling off a building to my death."
"I don't think we could be in the same dream Xiomara and I am talking to you right now," I said answering her question.
" One event after the other, just great," I muttered sitting on the ground.
"We should shout and call the rest of them, maybe they're close by, they might be able to hear us."
Agreeing with Tyler we all shouted their names to the top of our voices. It was futile calling out their names because we got no response after shouting for a while, not even a sound answered us back.
"Walking around the forest is probably the best thing to do right now since shouting their names didn't work. It was better than we looked for a sight of humanity out here because I am famished and tired, I am sure you all would agree with me and I am pretty sure that a sloth would win me in a race at this point"
We didn't want to take chances by going in all different directions so we went straight ahead not turning back.
This forest was as lush and dense and everywhere we walked we invariably had to dodge branches. The leaves were paradise-green, rays of mellow sunlight filtered through the verdurous canopy, penetrating through the leaves and casting an unearthly green-gold luminescence over the ground. What a beautiful sight in the wrong scenario.
I have no idea how going to a deserted hospital would land me here, stranded in a forest. I was simply curious that's why I went to the hospital, hearing something strange was going around there made me want to go there even more. And don't even ask if my parents knew because I snuck out of the house without them knowing. I'm sure they are worried sick and are looking for me but I'm a sucker for a mystery.
They say curiosity killed the cat but then there's the part that said 'satisfaction brought it back'. So maybe, I'll find some sought of satisfaction at the end of all of this.
When I first went into the hospital, I was immediately attacked by two men, they carried me inside a room and tied me to a chair. I was so petrified and I didn't know what to do. Now, all my confidence went 6 feet under and I regretted sneaking out, now look where I am. Facing the consequences of my actions.
Suddenly I heard a loud hiss coming from the left.
"Oh, my goodness first I was being held captive now I'm going to be eaten alive by a monster, just great"
My senses heightened, I squinted to try and see whatever was behind that noise however nothing was there.
"Guys I think we should get out of here and fast because I am not waiting for something to jump out of those trees and eat me alive," Tyler exclaimed.
That sounded like something Xiomara would say but he has a point. We slowly backed away. For all we know this could be a wolf or a bear, it could be anything. Man, I should start listening to my parents.
When I have kids, I would tell them about this experience. I wish I could find vines here. Maybe I can be Tarzan for a while or Mowgli from the jungle book. Maybe climb some trees. Baloo would be proud.
Why am I thinking of this?
I saw a huge stick on the ground so I picked it up just in case. In no time I saw something fast as a lightning bolt past right by my foot.
"Aaaaah!"
My head whipped around only to notice that a huge snake had bitten Xiomara and was now wrapped around her ankle.
Tyler ran over to me and grabbed the large piece of wood I had in my hand and tried hitting the snake with it. At first, the snake wouldn't budge and Xiomara kept on screaming in pain. I didn't move a muscle; I wasn't getting anywhere near that snake. I've had enough action in my life for now.
Tyler then pulled the wood back and slammed the snake with it, the snake loosened from Xiomara's ankle and slid away. I ran toward Xiomara inspecting the bite wound, her foot already began to turn purple and swell. I didn't even know if the snake was poisonous or not. Let's hope it's not because I don't think I need a death right now.
Even though we'd probably just leave her body here or dig a hole and bury.......oh who am kidding we'd probably feed her to the snake as a peace offering so that the snake would let us live.
Both Tyler and I held Xiomara by her arms and hoisted her up. She groaned in pain as we lifted her.
"I guess it's not a good day for you, that snake did take a good bite of you"
Xiomara watched me with a death glare, daring me to say something else. If looks could kill I'd be 6 feet under. Who knew I wasn't good with words?
We had no idea of where we were going next because we were not going to stay here because if that snake decides to take a U-turn I'd be long gone, no turning back. That would be the last time Xiomara and Tyler ever saw me because I would be long gone no hesitation. I'll be gone like the wind.
We decided that we needed somewhere that Xiomara could rest her leg because her foot wasn't looking too good. Personally, to me, it looked like a dying eggplant in need of water. We walked a few miles so we could be far away from the area the snake was. We sat down on the ground and leaned against a tree.
" I was forced to go to a deserted hospital with weirdos, ambushed by psycho men and now bitten by a snake. What's next, it's such a great day," Xiomara said sarcastically.
" Oh come on Xiomara no need to be so dramatic, just lay back and relax like me," I said answering her.
And there it was again, the death glare.
"You seem to watch me that way a lot, are you obsessed with me." I bickered
Now, I was answered back with one of Xiomara's famous eye rolls.
I wish it would just stick behind her head. I said to myself chuckling.
" Anyway, what's next, what are we going to do now, we can't just stay here forever. There must be people around here."
"Doesn't look like it though" Tyler said nonchalantly.
I was really exhausted I had enough adventure for today so I slumped down on the tree bark and closed my eyes.
So, um......who else would feed her to the snake. Don't forget to vote, share, comment, and follow.
