Brooklyn
I woke up with a severe headache and my pulse pounded inside my head. I tried to move my body but when I looked down my hands and feet were both handcuffed. I turned my head to the side and next to me and saw Yori also in the same position as I am.
Why aren't we even dead yet? The room we were in was plain white the only things that were in the room is the beds that Yori and I were lying down on and two tables beside us.
My eyes widened in horror when I saw what was on the table. Small knives and blades covered the entire tableIt seemed like Yori and I was the only ones that got captured meaning that the others got away. It was a relief to know that the rest of them didn't get caught, but that could only mean one thing, they were going to torture us.
I was too smart to know this, they were going to torture us and make Xander and the rest of them come for us but it's all a trap because once they come all of us would be together once again and it would be much easier to kill us. I just hope that they don't try to save us and fall prey to Esmerelda's trap because it'll cost them their life.
"O, my gosh, we're going to die aren't we?"
"Yup, dead as hell."
"Way to keeping it positive Brooklyn."
"We are going to die, so what's the point of telling you otherwise, Yori"
It was only a matter of time before they come and torture us, I'm not going to tell Yori that it was all going to be ok and we were going t be untouched because when it really happens I need her to be preprepared.
I wasn't even prepared for this but I can't keep telling myself that it wasn't going to happen because it'll hurt even more when it does."Try and see if you can pull your hand out."
I tried pulling but they cuffed were so small it would take a miracle to get my hands out of it. I tugged and pulled even if it hurt but my attempts were futile because the only accomplishment I got from trying to pull my arms and legs free were sore ankles and wrists.
"Its too small, it won't work," I said to Yori.
"We can't give up keep on trying.'
I knew Yori was in denial but I didn't know it was this bad. I watched as she twisted and pulled trying to free herself, she wouldn't quit even with her already bruised wrists.
"You need to stop Yori, you hurting yourself."
"I can't stop, I don't want to die I just wanna go back home!"
Tears flew down her cheeks and her sobs could be heard throughout the entire room. I wanted to hug and comfort her but I can't even get up myself. At this point I didn't even care if I was going to die, I've had the feeling too many times to count. It just doesn't matter to me anymore.
The door in the room suddenly opened and Esmerelda came through the door walking towards us. Just the click of her high heels made me uneasy, just enough anxiety to poop myself. As she came closer you could see every wrinkle on her face. She held a neutral look on her face as she approached with not even a smile, a smirk, or a scowl.
Her pencil dress was way too short for my own good, one movement up and I'll go blind.
"Well, well, well what do we have here?"
"You better let us go you scumbag or I'll pull off that little fake bun you have on top of your head," Yoti yelled.
If I wasn't in this situation I am in right now I would have burst out in laughter but I'm not the one calling the shots here I don't want to make this any worse than it already is.
"Smart mouth, that will only make your position worst so listen here and listen carefully. You would have been dead a long time ago but luckily your friends escaped so here is what's going to happen. I'm going to warn your little friend that if they aren't here in 2 hours you'll both be dead."
Her plan was quite smart I might say, it was not what I expected, it was even better.
"As for now, you will stay right where you are until the time is right."
She then turned and walked away closing the door behind her.
"Our only plan at the moment is to get out of here before two hours is up, we have no clue if Xander and the others will come back for us or not. We're going to die in here whether they come for us or not so its best we try and escape. Everything is about timing, so we need to hurry up and get out of these cuffs because it'll take a long time to get out of this maze of a building since we are in a different part of it."
" How are we going to escape if we can't even get out of these cuff, smartypants, we've tried already it's no use."
I shook the silver key in my hands letting her now I had something to open the handcuffs. Her mouth dropped in awe.
"How? You know what I'm not even going to ask." Yori uttered.
I fixed the key in my hand pointing it towards the hole in the cuffs. I fiddled with it for a good bit before I could get the key inside the hole. I twisted it as far as I possibly could and I heard the click telling me that it was opened. I pulled my hands out of the cuff and stretched over and freed my other hand and legs. Next, I walked over to Yori and uncuffed her as well.
"What now, I'm pretty sure there are guards outside that door and even if we do get through, there's probably hundreds of Esmerelda's workers lurking through the hallways.
I scanned the room checking for any possible exits but there weren't any doors other than the Maine one.
"The vent," Yori whispered pointing towards it.
I looked at where she was pointing and saw a large vent that would most likely carry us to our exit and the best part about it, is that we will be unseen. We walked over to the vent and pulled out the front part of it so we could get through. Yori dropped to the floor and proceeded to go through the vents. When she was fully inside and there was enough room for me I bent down and went in.
