Ch 3- checkup

I take a seat in the dreadful dentist chair and places a bib on me and rips open a fresh pack of sterilized instruments.

I sigh.
He washes his hands and applies new gloves and puts on the mask then he reclined me back and turned on his dental headlight.

"Open" he says and grabs his mirror and explorer.
I roll my eyes. "What if I don't want to"

"Well I will have to use a mouth prop and no body likes that" he says and shows me the mouth prop.
I look at it in fear.
"I.. I will open I don't want that please..." I beg

"I figured you will eventually open up" he says

I finally open my mouth but not really wide he was able to slip his tools in. "A little wider please"
I open my mouth a bit wider. He then examined all my teeth with the mirror and explorer.
He scraped some bits of plaque. It didn't hurt he was actually very gentle.
He then took the tools out and returned the chair to normals state.
" I have to take xrays" he says and grabs a lead jacket and places it on me.
"What's this" I ask referring to the lead jacket
"It's to protect you from radiation" he says and grabs the film. Then asks me to open and bite down then he places a big camera next to my face then steps out of room and presses a button which makes a buzzing noise.

He takes it out and does the other side. Which was over in a few minutes. Then he removes the lead jacket.
Then reclined me back again. He puts on clean gloves.
"I'm going to give a nice cleaning and check your xrays" he says as he preps the tooth brush.
"What kind of toothpaste you want" he asked

"Do you have bubblegum?" I ask

"Yep" he says and gets the bubblegum toothpaste pod and opens it and puts some on the toothbrush.
"Open" he says
I open and he began brushing my teeth and in delicate circles and made sure to get all the sides of the teeth and soon enough all my teeth were clean and he flossed for me.

My gums were a bit tender which Charlie noticed.
"Do you floss everyday" he asked
"Yes of course" I say

"It doesn't look like it your gums were a bit tender" he says

He took off his gloves and mask removes my bib removes his dental light glasses.
He then checked the xrays

"Your teeth are beautiful except they are crooked you might need braces" he says

"I don't need braces" I say

"You still have a few baby teeth so I'll wait to have those fall out before braces" he says

I sighed in relief.

He returned the chair to normal state and took off my bib and I put my head in my hands

"Now see that wasn't that bad was it?" He said and he starts cleaning up and took his gloves and mask off.

"Nah" I shrug and get out of the chair and stand up.

"Want to go out to eat?"Charlie suggested

"Sure" I say

We leave and Charlie locks up the office. We decided to go to Olive Garden.
We love their breadsticks and salad.

I got a lemonade even through Charlie's rolled his eyes when I ordered it.
And when I got my fettuccine Alfredo I put a mountain of cheese on top.
Charlie chuckles a bit but was eating his spaghetti now.

We go home after dinner and I go upstairs and do my homework and take a shower and brush my teeth and decided to go to bed

Tomorrow is a new day. I don't have to get braces, till my last two baby teeth fall out which I know is going to be awhile.

Well I don't want braces though but you know he is gonna force them on me.
