A almost complete stranger looking in my mouth. Wow. But you know a lot of people don't have dentists in their family so they have complete strangers looking in their mouth.
I sit in the chair and Alex places the bib on me. This feels so weird I am so used to Charlie doing my examinations. Then I'm gonna have a new orthodontist. Charlie was observing Alex.
"Should I take xrays?" Alex asks
"Yea" Charlie said
Alex does the xrays it didn't hurt I had xrays plenty of times.
Alex and Charlie observe my x-rays. Alex pointed to four back teeth that are beginning to come in.
"Those are her wisdom teeth thank god they are just starting to come in, it will be a few years before we have to worry about them" Alex said
"Yea" Charlie said
I turn around and look at them
"What are wisdom teeth?" I ask
"Extra teeth basically" Alex says
"Oh" I say and turn back around
Alex takes the lead jacket off. Then reclined me back applies gloves and mask and finally positions the light.
He grabs his mirror and explorer.
"Say ahh" Alex said
I let out a low chuckle and open my mouth.
He examines my mouth.
"Your teeth are beautiful" he says and scrapes a tiny bit of plaque off one of my teeth.
He finishes with the quick examination, then Jason switches spots with him. Jason puts on gloves and mask and he cleans my teeth. He was really good at it I hope Charlie was happy on Alex's and Jason's work on my teeth
"Alright Shi now Mike here is gonna tighten your braces and and check the progress" Charlie says
Jason switches spots with mike. Alex and Jason take their gloves and mask off and sit out of the way in the corner on the chairs.
I sigh I remember when I got my braces tightened last time they were uncomfortable for like a week and I had to eat soft foods for a week. Man i miss chewy things like Carmel and gummy bears and most of all popcorn, man I loved popcorn.
Mike applies gloves and mask and tells me to open. I open and he began looking around. He seemed satisfied with the progress as he didn't say much.
He grabs a few new tools to remove the wire. Then he removes the bands. He lets me choose the new color for the bands which I chose Baby blue.
Then he replaces the bands and finally the wire and made sure it won't poke my gums. He had me check by moving my tongue around to see if it did poke around which thank god it didn't
He finally finishes and returns the chair to normal state and lets me get up
"I'm impressed with how good her braces are, maybe another 6 months so probably like 3-4 more brace tightenings then you'll be finished with braces then you'll have a retainer to wear and stuff so your teeth don't move again" Mike explains
"Wow only 3-4 more tightenings then a checkup every 6 months after, man I'm sick of the dentist" I sigh
"Yea I know" Mike chuckles
Mike gets up and removes his mask and gloves.
"Can I go? Since Jax don't need anything" Mike says
"Your good to go" Charlie says
Mike leaves the room.
"Alright Jax your turn, Charlie here is gonna do your exam and cleaning" Alex explains
"Okay" Jax said as he sits in the chair
Little did nobody know Jax had a nasty toothache.. didn't tell Alex and Charlie was gonna find out..
