ch 8- dental work for Rosie

ROSIE POV

it was after school my mom told me she was going to be picking me up and has a surprise for me. I was waiting outside school for my mom. Shiloh had swimming i had to miss swim today, i love swim.

My moms jeep soon pulled up and i hopped in the passenger side.

"hey mom" i say

"hey sweetie" she says

"where are we going?" I ask

" a surprise" she says

"oh i like surprises" i giggle and in a good mood

A few moments later she pulled into the parking lot of Happy smiles family dentistry.

"why are we here?" i ask starting to get worried

"why didn't you tell me you had three cavities!" she says sternly

"wait..how do you know?" i say

"Charlie called and told me and set up an appointment for you" She says

"wait no..i don't want too please mom" I beg

"no buts" she says and soon enough she gets out and comes to my side and opens the door and basically drags me inside where she checked me in and we were now waiting in the waiting area.

Charlie comes out and looks at me and smiles. "welcome back"

"i aint happy with you charlie" i say angrily until i following him back and he took me to the exam room and locked the door. He had his tools all set up. His assistant Louis was already in the room.

"Sit in the chair willingly or be forced" Charlie says calmly.
"You can't force me" I snap

Charlie then pulls straps out of a cabinet.
My eyes widened.
"I-I'll sit" I say and sit down cautiously

"Thank you, I have all the time you need" he says softly

"Why did you call my mom" I say

"Because I care for you and I don't want to see you in pain" he says

"It doesn't even hurt" I whine

"Sure.." he says and places a bib on me and places his gloves and mask on and reclined the chair

He then puts on his dental light glasses and pulls the xrays up on the computer.
"You need 3 injections but I'll numb you a bit with numbing jelly.. Louis would you do that?" He asked
Louis grabs the qtip with jelly "open"
I didn't open my mouth.
"Rosie please" Charlie says

I continue to shake my head no.

"Do you really wanna be strapped down and your mouth forced open by a mouth prop" Charlie threatens

I opened my mouth not wanting any of that to happen. Louis rubs the jelly on my gums and it began feeling tingly.
"It feels weird and tastes like bubblegum.."I mumble
Charlie chuckles prepping the injections.
"Wait it's a bad bubble gum.. rinse it out I hate it" I complain

"No can do if you don't wanna feel the injections you will have to deal with it" Charlie says

I sigh.

"Are you numb and tingly yet?" Charlie asks

I nod.

"Open really big" he says and picks up the first needle
I gulp but open really wide for him.

I felt the first one go in it was a little pinch. I wince a bit
"Almost done" he says and finally takes it out
"Is that all?" I say
"No two more" he says then grabs the next one and injects it it hurt less then the last one

Then the last one came it hurt a little but was bearable when he was done with the injections
I sit up.
"Is it all done?" I ask

"Almost done I just gotta drill and fill them" he says

I gulp. But didn't lay back down

"Can you lay back down sweetheart" Louis asks

Half of my face went numb.

I hated this feeling.

I felt Charlie push me back down gently.
"The worst part is done"

"Open" he says

I open my mouth and he began drilling. There was pressure but no pain.

He did the root canal first he had to use a few other tools to get to my roots which made me uncomfortable the first chance he got and took the tools out I sat up.
"I'm almost done" he says
And pushes me back down

"Do you want mouth prop?" He asks

I shook my head no and opened my mouth for him.
He finished all the cavities and filled ten and dried them with a special light when I was finished I ripped my bib off.
And got up and out of the chair.

"Am I done?" I say

Charlie nodded

"Thank you" I say

He takes off gloves and mask

Charlie let me go to my mom. And I actually hugged him.
Me and my mom go home.

Me and Shiloh hung out and got milkshakes
