GRACE POV
today is the day I have to get my filling done and my mom wants to me to mention braces when I am there.
I don't want braces they are going to hurt.
I was in the car on the way to my appointment with Charlie. Yea me and Shiloh are getting along a bit better and may become better friends but Charlie gives me the creeps.
We get to the office my mom parks the car and we go in and I go to the receptionist and tell her my name and who I am here to see.
She tells me that he will be with me momentarily and how he finishing up with a patient
Me and my mom sit down and wait about 10 minutes before the door opens. And emerge two people one was Charlie and the other was a person I recognized from school but never talked too.
Charlie then notices me and smiles at Me.
"Are you ready?" He says
"I guess" I stand up and approach him
We go to the exam room. I take a seat.
"There was one thing I want to mention my mom wants me to get braces"
"That will be good for your teeth but our primary focus right now is too get this cavity filled alright?" Charlie says
He applies a bib to me. Then he applies gloves and a mask then reclined me back and puts his light on.
He grabs a q tip with jelly "you know the drill it's just like last time say ahh"
I open and he rubs the jelly on my gum line
"Just let me know when you start tingly" he says and throws the used q-tip away.
I start feeling tingly and I tell him.
He preps the needle. "Open really wide and close your eyes if you would like
I open my mouth and close my eyes and he injects the needle it was a small pinch but it was bearable
"Let me let that sit for a min and we can get this cavity taken care of" he says and puts the empty syringe in the sharps container
A few moments pass and he asks if I was numb which I was. And he grabs the drill I open my mouth really wide and close my eyes and he began drilling.
A few moments go by and he puts the drill away and starts filling it with tooth colored composite. He grabs a special light and dried it then he finally polished it.
"All done" he says and returns the chair to normal state and takes off my bib
"Thanks" I say
"So you want to talk braces?" He asked
"Yea well my mom wanted me too" I chuckle
"Well okay, I have some experience with them but you will have to talk to our orthodontist Dr. Jones" Charlie said
"Is he available?" I ask
"Not today he is busy" Charlie says
"Oh okay so I will have to talk to my mom about scheduling another appointment" I say
Charlie leads me out and my mom schedules an orthodontic appointment with Dr. Jones in a few weeks
On the way I home I was playing with my tongue. My mom chuckles at me
"It's numb still can I have some icecream" I ask
"Fine but something small" mom said
We stop at the icecream place and I got a small cup of unicorn dreams which is like cake batter icecream with sprinkles and is pink.
We go home after and mom prepares dinner then I hang out in my room watching Netflix as my face began feeling normal again
