~Holly's POV~

I hum a small tune to cheer me up, while putting on some makeup to cover a bruise I got a few days ago. Trying to make it look as natural as possible, I finally put on my round, golden colored glasses again. I couldn't live without them since I'm kinda blind with -6.75 diopters. I'm grateful for having them, although they always get me names like "four-eyes" or "nerd".

Making my way to the kitchen, I see my mother sitting at her place at the table and my dad leaning against the kitchen island drinking some smoothie.

"Good morning", I greet silently and try to smile at them.

"What are you wearing today, Holly?! This looks ridiculous on a body like yours!", my mom replies looking taken aback. Finally my dad looks up and lets his eyes rake over my appearance.

"Your mother is right, you should dress more appropriate. Wear something big, not these skinny jeans! I can see your fat in these", my father adds.

"I'm sorry."

Since I don't have time to redress, I just grab some of the bread being on the table and make myself a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I know I shouldn't eat this much with my weight already being at 211 lbs at 5'3, but I just can't help it. I love food!

"Ugh, can't you lose some weight already?"

"I'm sorry", I reply again, this time my voice even smaller, suppressing tears, but my mother only scoffs. Swiftly eating my sandwich, I hurry to leave the house and finally start my way to school. My parents got me a nice car for my 18th birthday so I could drive around "fitting our family's wealth" or in other words wouldn't embarrass them.

Arriving in the school's parking lot I try to calmly breath in and out for a few seconds before leaving my car behind and slowly walking up to the familiar hallways of torture.

"Holly! Wait!"

I turn around and smile at the voice of my best friend Juliana. She's my light in all of this, always trying to make sure I'm okay and well cared for.

"Hey Juli", I greet and hug her simultaneously.

"How have you been? Tell me about your weekend! I missed you and our family trip was boring af! I swear, Jayden was about to explode after Dylan brought some chick with him!", she rambles excitedly.

I unconsciously flinch at Jayden's name. He's my long time crush for over four long years now. I think I might have loved him even longer, but I can't remember when I finally realized it. He's Juli's twin brother, while Dylan is their older sibling.

I remember how scared I was to tell Juli about my crush on her brother, because I feared she might be angry or something, thinking it'd be hideous I liked her twin in that kind of way. I hid it from her for over three years, she only knows for about 8 months now.

Getting myself together I smile softly at my best friend, listening to her rambling about her family's weekend trip to the sea. They're kinda rich, even more than my own parents. Their family owns a lot of companies, yet they want their children to go to a public school to raise them as normally as possible.

"Anyways, so in the end Jayden got another grounding, but you know him, he doesn't give a fuck about it..."

I smile wider at her description and feel my heart warm with thoughts about Jayden's rebellious way. He can be described as the bad boy of the school, although I don't really like that term. Yet he fulfills the necessary conditions.

He's tall at 6'4 (Juli once told me), has some chiseled muscles I got to drool over on some lake trip I took with Juli's whole family and nobody wants to mess with him because of his reputation to be able to beat up everyone talking to him the wrong way.

There are some rumors about him doing drugs and shit as well, but I'm not really sure these are true. He does own a motorcycle tho, some expensive Suzuki as far as I know, making him look even hotter when he arrives at school in the morning.

"Holly? You still there?", Juli's voice interrupts my wandering thoughts. I nod swiftly, not wanting her to think I ignored her.

"I'm fine, sorry, I got kinda carried away", I answer softly. She smiles and nods, then we reach the big building of our school and enter the scary hallways of hell.

It's not that I don't like school, because I do like to learn new things, it's the people in here that make it scary and sometimes terrifying for me to come here everyday. I just go because I know I have Juli and if I ever know about her being ill or some other thing causing her to stay at home I usually do too.

Right on cue I hear a loud voice screeching through the hallways. I flinch and try to squirm out of her sight, but to late.

"Ayo, fattie! Don't push yourself to much by running away!"

Walking up to us is Chelsea, the Queen of our school and my ex best friend. She just dumped me one day saying I was to annoying and burdened her to much so we should end our friendship. It was before I even knew Juli existed and it still crushes me how she treats me now.

"Hello Chelsea", I sigh, knowing it'll be worse if I ignore her.

"Oh, so you got some vocal chords? Didn't your parents teach you to be quiet around your superiors?", she taunts. "Oh, wait, they don't care about you, just like everyone else!"

Her friends giggle while I try to ignore the hurt blooming in my chest. Juli huffs.

"Shut your slutty mouth you filthy ass pig! Nobody wants you here, so put your flat ass out of our way and don't you dare come at Holly again!", she spits in Chelsea's caked face.

My jaw hits the floor, as well as everyone else's. Chelsea's friends got quiet and people start to stare at us. Juli really did it this time. Now everyone's attention was on our group.

"You little shit! Never talk to me like that again! I'll teach you-"

Surprising me and everyone despite Juli Chelsea raises her hand and tries to hit my best friend's face. Keyword: tries. Juli can be pretty badass sometimes. She just stops Chelsea's wrist mid-air, grabbing it tightly and stepping up to her. Only a few inches are left between their faces.

"Never try hitting me again. I swear, I'm going to fuck you up so hard, I'll use your fucking fake nails to stab your fucking fake tits till they deflate to fucking nothing", she silently growls out. Chelsea pales at her words. It's the first time I ever see her rethinking her decisions.

Juli shoves her out of her way, grabs my arm and drags me past the silent group of observers.

"What a fucking bitch!", she rants angrily. "Can't hold her fucking mouth! Don't listen to her, Holly, she's a fucking slut!"

I nod along, trying to suppress my torn feelings. I know how right Chelsea and everyone else is about me being fat. She's right about how I'm a waste of space and everything else they always tell me.

Still I'm angry at her for trying to hurt Juli. Nobody hurts my friends! Yet I could only stand by and relay on Juli defending us on her own... That's what I hate myself for. Not being able to stand up for myself and people I care about. I really burden everyone.
