~Holly's POV~
A knock on my door startles me awake. I didn't even realize I fell asleep. I just scrolled through my phone, trying to not lose it once again.
"Who's there?", I yell out cautiously. Hopefully it's not Dylan.
"It's me, Jayden", his familiar, deep voice surprises me. What does he want?
"I- Err... Okay?", I stutter out. Immediately the door opens and in comes his tall and broad figure, barely fitting through the door.
"I take that as a welcome", he mumbles quietly, apparently not really in the mood to joke around. Great, that makes two of us.
"Uhm, what do you want?", I ask shyly. I don't know what I did, but I feel guilty nonetheless. I always do.
Because I'm always fucking up everything.
Letting my eyes rake over his muscular form, I notice that he's looking a bit disheveled. His hair is a mess, his clothes aren't sitting like they should and his left sleeve is even ripped at the shoulder seam, showing me a glimpse of his bulging muscles. Yet, before I can ask him, he already answers my first question.
"I want to apologize. For ignoring you and not helping you when you needed me", his deep, husky voice shocks me. His face is contorted in guilt, his eyes show me that he truly means this.
"What?", I ask, smart like I am.
"Yesterday... I didn't realize Dylan was forcing you! Juli confronted him and I heard him conceding some of it. I kinda lost it afterwards and he admitted everything. I'm so sorry for not helping you, I just felt hurt, because I thought you wanted him as well and I was so confused about everything! I understand if you're angry with me and don't want to see me right now, but please try to consider my apology. I'll do anything! Even your homework or shit like that! Just please forgive me for being so stupid."
Silence fills the room. I'm quite stunned. I heard some yelling from somewhere in the house, but I didn't catch words so I assumed it was someone being in the gaming room. And now he tells me this... Wow.
"I... I'm kinda overwhelmed right now", I admit slowly. He nods and squirms in his spot. It's incredibly cute. I never saw him being nervous like that. And it's because of me! Whatever he wants with me accepting his apology, it gifts me with this cute and unique scene.
Wait, focus Holly. What did he say again?
"Wh- What made you think I'd ever... want him?", I ask after a while, needing a few seconds to turn that over in my mind.
"Well, you didn't say anything in that moment, so I thought...", he trails off, shrugging helplessly.
"Oh. Y- Yeah, my voice kinda didn't work, I don't know", I mumble as an answer, self-consciously looking down, watching my feet.
"I'm sorry", he answers, sounding sad and sincere. "I wish, I would've helped you."
His shoulders sag and I see his eyes turning duller.
"It's okay, don't worry. I had worse", I smile up at him kinda sad. I don't really feel like that's true, although Nick touched me once or twice too, but not like that. It just wasn't on the same level. In this house I thought I'd be safe, it's my comfort zone, but then I got assaulted right here...
"But I'll always worry", Jayden snaps me out of my thoughts. He has a small smile grazing his lips, similarly sad looking like mine. My eyebrows scrunch in confusion, but he doesn't let me speak.
"You know, I came to your room yesterday, because I wanted to ask you out on a date. A real one this time", he admits and watches me with an unwavering, intense gaze, trying to guess my reaction. I on the other hand feel my eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. Incredulity courses through me. I can't believe it! THE Jayden Davis is asking ME out for a date?!
