Chapter 39

~Holly's POV~

"What do you want, Aiden?", Amber beats the stranger to it, a huge attitude in her voice.

"Oh, Amber, didn't see you there. I just came to say hello to this lovely, young lady in front of me", that so-called Aiden responds with a smirk, turning his eyes back to me. He somehow seems familiar, but I can't really put my finger on it. His cold gaze sends shivers down my spine, but I try to hide them. He screams trouble and I don't want him to know, that I already fear him.

"What's your name, cupcake?", he asks me curiously.

"I- I don't think that's part of your business", I manage without to much of a stutter, internally patting myself on my shoulder for it.

"Oh, too bad, I really wanted to get to know you", he smiles despite his sad tone. "Tell you what, I'll just give you my number and perhaps you'll hit me up, when Jayden starts to bore you."

He takes my hand and puts a small paper into it, taking me by surprise. I try to step back, but his grip only tightens. While my eyes are already wide in shock of him knowing Jayden, I now feel pain pulsing through my wrist. He practically squishes it, an evil glint in his eyes once he sees me squirm in pain.

"Let go of her, you little shit!", Juli suddenly chimes in, aggressively ripping his hands off of me and pulling me back behind her and Amber. "Never touch her ever again or I'll rip out your fucking balls!"

She practically spits in his face, but it doesn't seem to faze him at all.

"Oh, the sister is here as well. Your language is just as colorful as his", Aiden laughs, sending more shivers down my back. "Have a good evening for now, but I recommend you calling me soon, cupcake! Otherwise there might be consequences."

He and his friends disappear as fast as they came, leaving us alone in the middle of the dark street.

"What the fuck was that?!", Juli grunts, obviously angry. All of us swiftly walk to her car and get in, not in the mood of having another encounter with these guys.

"He's called Aiden Baker. He's the boss of the second gang in town, always rivaling Jayden, because he's stronger and has more power than him. He's quite an asshole and doesn't give a fuck about using violence to get his way", Amber explains, her voice wary and perhaps even with a glint of fear in it. "Let's just get back quickly. I want to be with Eric right now."

Yeah, she's definitely afraid. Wow, I would've never guessed, that she could be afraid of anything! She seemed so strong and independent whenever I was around her. On the other hand I still don't know much about her or the gang activities all of them seem to be involved with.

Ten minutes later we quickly enter Jayden's building and hurry to get upstairs.

"Whoa, whoa, what happened? Why are y'all so out of breath?", Luke greets us first.

"We need to talk. Aiden showed up and threatened Holly", Amber explains quickly, effectively making Luke frown.

"I'll get everyone", he mumbles all serious. I feel like he takes this even more serious than Amber did, that Aiden guy really seems to be a problem. A few minutes later, everyone stiffly sits in the living room. I'm in Jayden's lap, he instantly scooped me up and didn't want to let go anymore as soon as he saw me. Amber's in Eric's arms as well, while the others sit scattered all over the couches.

Once Amber starts telling the guys everything, Jayden's arms around me immediately tighten. I think I even heard him growl somewhere along the line. It's kinda hot, but scares me at the same time.

When Amber came to the part where Aiden grabbed my wrist, Jayden immediately grunts in anger, ordering Adam to get the first aid kit. In the meantime he gently examines my slowly bruising arm. The bruises clearly look like a hand and I see Jayden clenching his jaw to hold back. Instead he just applies some ointment against the pain and to stop a swelling, then carefully wraps it in bandages.
