~Holly's POV~

Opening my eyes, I feel nothing but pain. My whole body hurts, everything seems to be in agony. I groan, but still try to move since I have to use the toilet. I slowly manage to get up, nearly screaming once I put pressure on my ankle. Limping over to my bathroom, I relief myself and finally take a look in the mirror.

I take a step back upon seeing my face. It's black and blue, portraying a symphony of hurt and suffering. I should be lucky my nose isn't broken. The whole left side of my face is covered in bruises of various healing states. My right side is nearly as bad, but I guess since my parents are right-handed it wasn't hit as much as the other one. Adding to everything I have a cut bottom lip and a few scrapes all over my face. All in all not exactly pleasing to the eye.

A few tears escape my eyes upon seeing myself in this broken state. I never thought I might look like this one day. I always hoped I'd somehow lose some weight over the years and grow up to look aesthetically pleasing.

Now I'm the exact opposite. Ugly, beaten and fat.

Worthless. An abomination.

Just as I want to grab my razor again, the sound of the door bell pulls me out of my thoughts. I tense, not knowing who it could be. My gaze wanders to the clock in my room and my eyes widen when I see it's past 12 pm. I fucking overslept! I'm still frozen in my spot, hoping the strange intruder would go away again, without me having to open them.

"Holly, I know you're inside, please open up! I'm worried about you!", I suddenly hear Jayden's voice calling from outside. My eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. What shall I do?! I can't cover my bruises in time, but he won't go away obviously!

Quickly limping over to my closet, I pull out a big hoodie and put it on, pulling the hood up over my face to try and hide it. Then I slowly make my way downstairs, listening to Jayden still calling out for me from outside and knocking on the door.

"Holly, please, I'm worried! Is everything okay? You never miss school! Please open up!", he tries again and I feel kinda sorry for him for feeling like he should check on me.

Once I open the door, I'm nearly hit by his hand wanting to knock again. I quickly cower away, making him frown, but I just act as if it's nothing.

"I'm fine, don't worry. I just overslept", I answer his questions and hear him sigh in relief.

"I'm glad. You're parents seemed to think you already left, they told me you're already gone when I came to get you this morning. Btw, why are you wearing a hood inside your house?", he asks confused. I risk a quick look at him and see him frown.

"I'm feeling cold", I lie. "Is that everything?"

I feel bad for being so cold, but I desperately need him to leave before he notices my bruises.

"Oh, uhm, yeah, kinda... I just wanted to make sure you're okay", he mumbles, sounding a bit bewildered at my actions. "Can I come in?"

"I kinda just got up", I try to get rid of him, but he just shrugs.

"I can wait."

I sigh in annoyance. Then I step back a bit and reluctantly lett him in. Walking past me, he curiously looks around him, taking in our corridor.

"So this is where you live", he smirks, turning around to me again. I accidentally meet his gaze and suddenly everything goes really fast.

His eyes widen for a second and with two huge steps he's right in front of me. His hand moves up and grabs my hood, pulling it off before I can utter a single word of protest. He gasps at my colorful face.
