~Holly's POV~
I feel everyone's eyes on me. Walking alongside of Jayden through the school's hallways apparently tends to make people stare at you. Whispers fill the halls around us and I immediately feel uncomfortable.
"Just ignore them", Jayden's low voice reaches my ears. For a second I feel his hand brushing against mine, but I'm sure it's just my imagination.
When we reach my locker he automatically stops and I wonder how he knows that it's mine.
"I'll take you back later. Just wait for me in the parking lot."
I nod shyly, not used to all the piercing glances laying on us.
"Don't think to much about the others, Hols. See you around, okay?"
"Uh, yeah, bye", I manage to answer in return and immediately want to slap myself for not thanking him for the ride. But it's to late now, he's already strolling down the hallway, having that lazy aura of confident danger surrounding him just like always.
When I finally snap out of it, I swiftly turn to my locker so people no longer can stare at me as well as before. Once Jayden went around the next corner the whispers got even louder.
"What is he doing with someone like her?!"
"Poor him, he's probably feeling sorry for her."
"No way, Jayden feels sorry for nobody!"
"Ugh, what does the whale want from him?"
"Why does he even allow her near him?!"
Well, can't say I didn't ask me that myself already.
Retrieving everything I need for the first period, I quickly flee out of there, making my way to my first class. Lucky me it's English, one of my best classes.
The lesson goes well, although I never say anything, I take notes and work on the essays we're currently writing.
A few hours later I already went through Math, Physics and Art. Now I have lunch break and I can't wait to see Juli to save me from all the ugly stares that just got more and more the further the day went by. I guess by now absolutely everyone knows about my entrance with Jayden.
"Girl, oh my God, is it true?!", she suddenly screeches in my ears, popping up out of nowhere, when I just try to stuff things in my locker. I flinch away from her sudden appearance and bump my arm on the locker's door.
"Ouch!", I cry out. "Shit, Juli, can you not?!"
"Ugh, I'm sorry, but tell me!", she whines again. "Is my ship sailing?!"
I blush at her words and shake my head in answer, trying to suppress my sadness.
"Oh. Well at least he took you here, right? There are already tons of rumors about you two", she smirks and wiggles her eyebrows at me. I just sigh. This school's people are ridiculous. I mean, who would even think about Jayden sleeping with someone like me? It's obvious he would never!
I'd probably crush him in the midst of it.
"We didn't do anything, he just remembered I don't have a car this morning and came to pick me up so I don't have to walk", I explained in a monotone voice. "Don't think to much about it."
Juli just huffs.
"Please, he wouldn't even do that for me! Remember when my car was crushed because of that shitty drunk driver? I had to beg my mom to take me, he just laughed and refused to do anything! I had to do the dishes for a week because of it!", she told me, pouting at the memory.
