Akari's PoV
With the army outside Arvel now around twenty five thousand, I ordered my vassals to hastily finish our preparations for the invasion.
We commissioned two hundred fifty ships from various regions, take control of the port town of Yan, which is located in northern Ashwell.
"Milady the fleet is ready, we've also received information that civil war within the Empire has occurred."
"We have no time to waste, make haste and prepare to depart."
"Yes your Majesty!"
We have no time to waste, if we want to end this war without further bloodshed, now is the time to strike.
"Your majesty, a messenger from the empire has arrived."
The messenger kneels down and handed me a letter, I opened it and read the content.
I'm Leonard, second Prince of Aldalia, I wish to form an alliance with you, in order to dethrone my brother and restore peace in the continent.
I'm well aware of your planned invasion, I wish to enlist your aid on dethroning the current emperor.
I turned my gaze to the messenger, he avoided my gaze and looked downwards.
"I accept the offer of his Highness, deliver this back to your master."
The messenger nodded, I ordered one my vassals to bring me a quill and paper. After finishing writing, I handed the letter to the messenger, he received the letter and left the encampment with haste.
I have an idea on what his Highness is planning, however I need more information just to be sure.
As the army was almost finished preparations for departure, another messenger arrived, however this time it came from Liden. The messenger bowed and handed one of my guards a scroll.
After examining the scroll, the guard told me.
"It's from Liden's king your Majesty."
"Give it to me."
The guard complied to my order and handed me the scroll
The kingdom of Liden wishes to form an alliance with Hakuroku kingdom, as proof of our friendship, we offer your people a few of our weapons of war.
"Bring it."
I ordered the messenger, he nodded and unloaded a few creates from his carriage. He placed one of the creates in front of me.
"Open it."
The messenger took a few steps back, be of my Knights opened the create, the messenger had a boastful smile as he explained.
"These are crossbows, their range might be lower than long bows, however they can easily penetrate armor."
"Care to demonstrate?"
