27: Bandit Subjugation part 02

Ange's PoV

With my magic Enhance, I prepared myself for battle, strength continued to fill my body every second.

Unlike our first encounter, this time I have control to a small portion of my power. This is all thanks to Yuka's guidance and for that I'm thankful.

I'm grateful to Akane, she protected me from her commanding officer, she could have died. No, she might have connections to someone powerful that's why her commanding officer stood down.

I learnt one thing about her though, she keeps her promises, I should somehow repay by debt.

Our goal is to subjugate the bandits, however we aren't required to kill them all. I'll avoid unnecessary deaths, even though filth like them deserves it.

Have I gone soft? Somehow I think yes.

A bandit tried to stab me, I dodged his attack, I swung my halberd with superhuman speed, severing the bandit's hand.

Another one rushed forward, two from my side. I hit the second bandit with the tip of my halberd, making sure that he's knocked out.

The bandits from my rear rushed towards Akane, whom desperately tried to protect herself, her talent with the sword isn't praiseworthy, rather it's lackluster to make things worst, her physical strength is below average.

Akane simultaneously blocked two consecutive strikes, she lost balance, forcing her to distance herself from her opponents.

I discarded my halberd and unsheathes my rapier, with precision and speed, I amputated the two bandit's hands.

"Thanks Ange-san."

Akane smiled at me, she took a deep breathe and reassumed her fighting stance.

Alex discarded whom ran out of arrows discarded his short bow, unsheathes his claymore and joins the front line.

To be honest, I don't like seeing Lady Akane fighting, but I feel like she's fighting for someone else's sake, which for me is praiseworthy. However she is too reckless, if she doesn't change her way, she might die someday. I don't want her to die, for my comrade's sake and for my sake.
