32: Uprising

Normal PoV

After successfully occupying the fortress of Eil, the resistance forces made it's way further southwards.

After successfully occupying the fortress of Eil, resistance forces began to heavily fortify it's defense.

Inside the office of the former commander of the fort, sat Shinsha Lea the leader of the woodland elves. She sat on the commander's desk reading various documents of the former commander.

A soldier entered the office and reported.

"Milady, we've taken full control of the fortress, we are now proceeding on hunting down the stragglers."

Shinsha Lea turned to the soldier, pleased with his report, she smiled and told him.

"Good work, all that's left is to replenish our numbers, the previous battle significantly weakened our forces."

Confused with her remarks, the soldier asked.

"What do you mean milady?"

"Send out riders to the nearby towns and villages, seek out the help of the people on overthrowing the empire."

The soldier nodded and left the office, Shinsha Lea took a sip of coffee and muttered.

"I have a feeling that this battle will cost many lives, let's hope we can end this with as little death from both sides as possible."

Under Shinsha Lea's command is ten thousand soldiers, which comprised three hundred woodland elves, seven hundred half elves, and nine thousand humans.

Despite the difference in race, Shinsha's forces had a comradely bond. They were well disciplined and trained well by their commander.

After three days, the wounded have mostly healed, the resistance forces departed from the fortress. Their number was around thirty five thousand.

Shinsha Lea stationed more than half of her forces in Eil, in fear of having their escaped route cutter off.

The resistance forces marched further southwards, pushing back any imperial forces back.

Shinsha Lea's forces comprised mostly armed militia, peasants and slaves, along with a few professional soldiers under her command.

Whilst dismounting from her horse a young wood elf reported to the girl with short curly platinum blonde hair, long pointed ears and silky white skin, her eyes are a pair of round Sapphire blue eyes.

"Milady, more people have enlisted to our cause, around five hundred men."

"I see, we'll need a lot more if we are to fight the imperial army, this is the perfect chance to reclaim our homeland."

The wood elf nodded and helped the other soldiers distribute weapons to the new recruits.

Aldren's PoV

"It seems the rebels have made their move."

The prime minister whom have a displeased look on his face turned to the messenger.

"Is this true?"

The messenger took a step back and nodded.

"The rebels have taken the northern fortress of Eil, their forces are marching southwards, whilst recruiting many commoners to join their cause."

"Send a detachment of our imperial army to subjugate the rebels, it's about time we put those commoners back in their rightful place."

"As you wish Your Majesty."
