Extra 02: Frost Company

Author's Note: Set during the chapter port town of Yan

Merchant president's PoV

After the Hakuroku kingdom took full control of the port town Yan, People's anxiety grew, tension rose between the residents and their oppressors.

As a merchant, as long as it doesn't causes problems for my business, It doesn't really matter whom is in charge.

Using the dust cloth to clean the counter of my store, a man entered and asked.

"Is the store open?"

Behind the man is a lady around her mid twenties or early thirties, judging from appearance, the man wore butler's clothing, whilst the Lady had a beautiful yellow dress which complemented her beautiful one if her eyes of the same color.

I bowed and inquired to the two potential customers.

"What business do you have at my store ma'am, sir?"

The man made eye contact with the lady, in response she nodded.

"I would like to order massive quantities of wheat, potatoes, meat and other consumable products."

Quite strange, judging from her clothing she seems like someone who's not from this place.

Probably someone from the Hakuroku Kingdom, but I could care less about their background, all that matters is profit.

"It's a good thing we have just restocked before the city put under lockdown."

I clapped my hands and smiled, the two simply paid no mind to my actions.

"I have a stock of wheat, rice, Potatoes, carrots, Salt, Pepper and other spices for sale, but it will cost you quite a sum of money."

The lady took out a bag of coins a d handed it to me, I opened it only to find a dozen of platinum coins inside, I gulped as she told me.

"That's more than enough for the amount of goods I'm demanding, I would also like to buy all your iron reserves."

This confirms my suspicions, this Lady I'd from the Hakuroku Kingdom, one that holds tremendous power. Also most likely leading this occupation.

"Of course, we'll have it prepared by the morning."

The Lady smiled, placing the coins on the desk and turned her back towards the door.

"I will send people to collect the goods early in the morning. It's a pleasure doing business with you mister?"

I gulped as I had mixed emotions confronting this lady. She seems like an elegant and fragile beauty, however I also felt intimidated by her presence. This is weird I'd say.

"Darlyin Frost, president of the frost company."

"Just call me Ari."

After the two left, I quickly gathered my workers and told them.

"We have a big order, I want everything prepared by the morning. If everything goes well, you'll all receive a bonus and a day off."

My workers is the backbone of the company, I want as much profit as possible. Yes that's true, however what gives the company value is the workers.

Without them, this company would be nothing, I owe them this much.

As a businessman, I should want the most work for the least cost, for maximizing profit. However that would lead to the dissatisfaction of my workers.

Without delay, the workers quickly went back to work, I called out to the manager and told him.

"I'll put my trust in you, don't fail me."

He nodded and replied. "I won't fail you sir." I patted his back and left the store and went inside my bedroom and rested.

After the Butler or rather those under him collected the goods, I held a party to celebrate our success.

I took out a few bottle of my finest wine and told the partying lot.

"This is a special occasion, that calls for high quality drinks."

Normal POV

"Milady, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

The lady response as she turned to the man, with an intrigued look.

"Why pick that company, other companies could have sold us the same goods at a cheaper price."

The lady had a playful grin as she replied.

"It's quite simple, amongst the merchants of the city, that president is well known for being considerate towards his employees. I did some research and found out that he helped some of his employees with their debt and medical expenses."

"This in turn gave his company good public perception, Along with the loyalty of it's employees."

"That's why I decided to pay him extra."

The butler sighed, whilst the lady paid it no mind.

"Anyways, I want you to distribute half of said food amongst the citizens, whilst use the iron to manufacture armor and weapons for war."
