I woke up to my alarm beeping obnoxiously in my left ear. I slammed my hand on my alarm clock and knocked it off onto my floor at which it began to beep even louder. "Glorious." I muttered to myself while sitting up and picking up the alarm clock. I walked over to my closet and stretched my arms "What do you wear to your first day of tenth grade?" Honestly, I didn't care. In the end I just threw on an oversized red hoodie, some black leggings, and to top things off my hightop converse. After going into my bathroom and getting ready for my day, it was time for me to tackle two things that I was horrible at; hair and makeup. For makeup I put on what I always put on, mascara. Don't even get me started on hair, you try dealing with super thick chocolate colored hair. So I just threw it into a messy bun and called it good. I grabbed my backpack and phone and ran upstairs from my room in the basement. Once I emerged into the kitchen I saw my mom eating breakfast with my brothers. My older brother of a year, Axel, saw me and stood up from the table, "You need a ride?' He asked me. Before I could answer my younger brother Jason, who was in fourth grade jumped up from the table, "Aw Axel! Can you drive me? All the kids think that you're the coolest. 'Specially the chicks." My mom, Axle and I laughed, "The chicks?" I smirked and turned towards Axel. "Nah, I figured I'd skateboard." My mom turned towards me and gaped, "Honey! Am I the only one who remembers the car that you worked all summer for?" I frowned. I tried to forget my summer job at Starbucks. The coffee making was fun but the creep who I worked with consistently hitting on me wasn't fun, for anyone involved. "Yah I know but I figured for today I could skateboard, tomorrow I'll pull out the car." "Honey. You're catching a ride with Axel." "Well I'll just take my car then!" I replied, when parents start parenting things get confusing. "Nope, you should have just done it when you could." What was the point in this? I groaned and grabbed his keys out of his hand. I walked to his car and was soon followed by Axel. The problem with driving with my brother is his music, he pumps up the volume to full blast and it basically knocks out your sense of hearing. The torture began as soon as he started the car, the song "Problem" by Ariana Grand came blasting in from the speakers and my brother began singing very off-key and loudly to the song. After awhile I joined in. Soon I looked out the window and realized we were there, we were at school. Axel parked and we began walking toward the school's entrance. As soon as we reached the sidewalk I was tackled in a hug from my friend Joy, "OMG! I haven't seen you like all summer! How was it you have to tell me everything! Wait until you hear about my summer! We went... Oh um... Hi Axel." Joy started blushing horrendously. She'd liked my big brother since she had first come over in eighth grade and she gawked at my brother having a hose fight shirtless with his best friend, Alex. Alex and Axel, crazy right? "Hey Joy. Look Jay I'm gonna go find Alex kay?" I nodded and he winked at Joy and I. Joy stared at him until he was lost in the crowd. "Your brother is so hot." I laughed and we walked inside the building so clearly labeled: James Webster Public High School. I was about to walk into something or someone (as the case may be) that would change my life forever.
