✖Jay's P.O.V.✖
I waved goodbye to everyone and grabbed my skateboard. Man, my knuckles really hurt. The fact that Joy had done that had really upset me.
I had wasted four years with her; four years I could never get back. I set my skateboard down and hopped on. I pushed myself off in the direction of my house.
My phone buzzed. I looked down to see a text from Ryker.
Ryker: Hey, want to grab something to eat for lunch?
Jay: Sure, where?
Ryker: I just moved her a few months ago. U know the places, u choose.
Jay: Fine princess. Lets go to Pizza's. Do u know where that is or do I need to help you with that too?
Ryker: I know where it is. See u there babe ;)
I rolled my eyes. He was ridiculous. I turned my skateboard around and headed for Pizza's. It would probably be closed but my Aunt's boyfriend owned it. I could get us in.
A little while later I stopped my skateboard in front of Pizza's. I waited for Ryker. I could vaguely hear someone playing music. I felt someone grab me by the waist. I tuned around, "Hey. This place is closed or at least, that's what the sign says." Ryker stated bluntly. I smiled, "I know that. My aunt's boyfriend owns it." I knocked on the glass door.
A man in his early thirties came down the stairs. When he saw me his face lit up, "Jay! What a cool surprise. You want some pizza?" I smiled, "That'd be great Derek."
Ryker and I walked inside. The music had long died out and we were the only people in the dining room, or so we thought.
We walked into the dining room to see Tyler of all people, kissing Will. Ryker and I looked at each other. I broke the silence. "Em owes me twenty bucks." Tyler broke the kiss and looked over, "Oh! Uh, hey guys." I smirked, "Somebody's been busy." Tyler blushed and Will smiled. "Why does Em owe you twenty bucks?" Will asked. "Because I bet that it would take Tyler less than a week to break up or cheat on Nick. She thought that it would be more than a week." I stated. "Great, now my friends bet on me, awesome." Tyler groaned. We laughed.
Tyler seemed to finally take in her surroundings, "Wait. Why are you guys here? Together, I mean." Ryker and I looked at each other. Ryker said "Working on a project together" at the same time that I said "Picking up my brother" We looked at each other and swapped excuses. Will spoke up, "So what I'm hearing is that you're on a date?" Ryker shook his head no, "Dude, we're just friends." My heart sunk. We were still just friends to him? "Yeah." I agreed falsely. I could tell that Tyler knew what I was feeling. "I'm going to go. Your kissing made me lose my appetite." I joked.
I made my way to the exit, closely followed by Ryker. The Winter Formal was tomorrow and I was going with Ryker. Who thought that we were just friends, great.
