Prompt: Jackson overprotective over his (Jackrene )daughter who wants to go on a date.

Irene sighed, looking towards her husband who was visibly shaking in anger as he stood in front of his daughter. Their baby girl Jia. Irene tensed slightly watching the father daughter duo stand off, her heart aching slightly at the animosity. Father and Daughter. She smiled to herself, watching the way her husband watched their daughter with almost solemn eyes. Jia had always been Jackson's princess. Always. The relationship they shared was such, and over the years the two had gotten stronger. And watching the two over the years, Irene realised that being a Dad wasn't just about making a child, but rather extending your hand and time to help raise the child, to nourish them and help the learn to differentiate between right and wrong, and despite the busy life he led he had never ever neglected that responsibility, and it was exactly that, that made Irene fall in love with him all the more each day. His constant dedication to every aspect in his life, made her smile. She looked back at the scene, another sigh escaping her lips as their oldest child sat next to irene. "What are Dad and Jia fighting about?" Jay asked looking into the same dark brown orbs he had inherited from his mother. "Your sister wants to go on a date." She felt Jay freeze besides her, and she knew, the boiling point in the room was about to reach higher than it already was. She leaned back, bracing herself as Jay shot up besides her walking towards Jackson and standing in front of his little sister who looked like she would cry any moment. "You're not fucking go on a date." She heard. Jackson turned to his son. "First of all no swearing, second of all I agree." "Why is it such a big issue." Jia shot back, shouting slightly. Irene's face recoiled watching her husband. "Do not take that tone with me." He spoke, his voice deadly. Irene knew it was bad, but god he looked so hot when he got angry. She cursed herself looking back to the scene. "It is one date. Come on dad I really like him. He's a really nice boy." "Well I don't like nice boys." "So would you prefer I went out with some druggie down the street." "Jia Wang don't you dare." He shot back. "I'm fifteen years old dad this was going to happen one day." Jay looked towards his sister. "I don't care, you're not allowed to date until your 50." Irene stifled a laugh at the one, clamping a hand over mouth as she continued to watch. "Then who the fuck is going to marry me at 50? I'll be single for life." "Good." Retorted Jay. Jackson sighed. "Listen Baby I love you and this why I'm telling you no. I just want what's best for you, I don't want you to get hurt." "Oh please it's Mason Tuan. You've known him for years Dad you're just being unreasonable because you don't want me to be happy." "Jia." Jackson warned. "No it's true. Both you and Jay are being unreasonable. You and mum have know mason ever since he was in diapers. Your best friends with Uncle Mark, and Mum and Aunt Wends are basically sisters-" "All the more reason for you not to go out with him." Cut in Jay. Jia rolled her eyes at her brother. "He is your best friend-" "No, not if he's asked you out. Shawn is my best friend now." "So will you let me go out with Shawn lim then?" "Fuck no." Jackson whacked Jay across the head. "Language." He shot back. "Baby please-" he moved forward to try and pull his daughter into his embrace but she pushed him and her brother before running up the stairs before either of them could get a word in. They flinched at the loud bang the resonated within their abode, Irene jumping in her seat as she  placed a hand to her heart. She closed her eyes before finally standing up.

She walked past her husband who watched her with his puppy eyes. He grabbed her arm gently, as Irene smiled at him. "Let me fix this." She spoke, "then I'll deal with the two of you." Their eyes widened, as they nodded, gulping slightly in fear of the Momma Bae that was to be awakened. Irene walked over to the steps climbing them before standing in front of her daughters room. She knocked softly. "Dad I do not want to speak to you!" She heard. "It isn't Dad." She responded. "Mom?" She heard her daughters choked out voice her heart aching at the thought of her child being upset or in any form of pain. She walked in seeing her daughter rise from her position as Irene brought her into her embrace letting her cry. "Shh baby it's okay." "Why do Dad and Jay have to be so unreasonable?" "Because they're men. It's their nature." She watched Jia give her watery smile, as Irene moved to wipe away her daughters tears. "Baby I know they're being too overprotective, but they just don't want to see your heart broken. Your dad especially. He's spent years trying to nurture it, and model to you what a man should be like to the woman he loves, and he knows how heartbreak can destroy someone. He just doesn't want someone to break his little girl because that would break him. They just want the best for you baby." "I know mum but-" "But nothing. I'll convince your dad to let you go, but in return you need to promise me that you'll look after yourself okay? Don't act on impulse, you have your dad's intelligence, so use it okay?" She watched as Jia nodded. Irene smiled. "Now no more tears okay?" She nodded as Irene brought her head closer, kissing her forehead before standing up. "Let me go knock some sense into your father." Jia emitted a small giggle as Irene left to walk back to her husband and son.

She looked towards Jay who was currently seated on the sofa across from Jackson. "Jay baby go to your sister." He nodded standing up and walking towards Irene. He kissed her forehead, "Don't talk about this to her okay?" Jay nodded towards his mother before leaving with a squeeze to her hand. She smiled before looking towards her husband. "Am I a bad Dad?" Irene's eyes softened as she crouched down in front of him, pulling his chin so he would look at her. "No." She spoke. "You're not Jack. You want her to be safe and there's nothing wrong with that. You want to protect your children Jackson no one can fault you for that." "But she-" "she's a child Jackson. What she said she didn't mean. She knows that you just want the best for her, she understands that now. But now you need to understand that she likes him." Jackson's eyes flared into his wife's. She rested her hand on his cheek. "Jack." "Irene please." "She going to hate you more if you lock her away like this. I know you just want the best for her, but they're young, they need to make these mistakes so that they can learn themselves. And you and I will always be there to pick our children back up if they fall. But you don't know how their story will pan out. We can't predict that, neither can they. And if they hurt each other, they'll grow and they will heal and we will be what guides them." Jackson sighed. "You're right." "Of course I am." She chuckled slightly. "And you do realise that Mark will kill his own son if he breaks Jia's heart. He's probably giving him hell already." Jackson chuckled nodding as he pulled his wife closer. "I got luck with you Bae." "It's Wang actually." "Oh yes how could I ever forget." "Guess I'll have to remind you then won't I?" He hummed back as Irene placed her lips against his. "EW!" They heard, the two jumping slightly as they turned to their kids. Jay had a hand over Jia's eyes and the other over his own. The family chuckled slightly. Jackson looked towards Jia. "I'll let you go on the date." He said, and the happiness that brightened on his daughters face made it worth it. Despite the threats and intimidation methods that were passed between father and son, they couldn't help but laugh as Jackson and Irene pulled their kids in for a hug. Jackson looked towards Irene miming the words. 'Thank you for this.' She smiled back at him. 'No thank you.' The two looked towards their kids again, their smiles widening. After all this was only one day with Team Wang.
