REVENGE IS BITTERSWEET.

Eva found truth in that statement as she disappeared from the chaos she had unleashed in the Avengers Tower. It had been bitter, for only a moment - for some peculiar reason, she had a heart pain when she locked eyes with Oliver for the first time.

He betrayed you.

But then it was all sweet - almost as sweet as those pastries Eva loved - when James' face contorted and Oliver looked near tears. She felt much better then. Almost as if that heart pain never occurred.

Almost.

Well, what was settled was settled, and Eva found peace in the idea of her next visitation. This time, she'd go someplace more familiar - somewhere she'd navigate quite well, even without the help of her magic.

She appeared in front of her apartment building. Well, Anna's apartment building.

This time, she wouldn't use magic. No, no - it'd be a walk down trauma lane if she made her way up to the apartment without just zapping in and out.

And boy, did it serve as a way to get her all riled up. The anger ramped up instantly as her memories resurfaced; she remembered the crying and the screaming and the "you're worthless!" insults as they rained down on her.

Anna wouldn't say that tonight. No, tonight, Anna would be begging for forgiveness and Eva would sweetly decline. Anna would suffer for her lies - for her treachery.

Then Eva would take her back to Asgard.

She could remember everything, now - the Blakkr made accessible the darkest parts of her memories. She remembers the constant bullying from Anna. The insults to her appearance, both Asgardian and Jotun, and the claims that she was fake royalty, that she was an awful girl, that they would lock her in the dungeons by the time she was 18 because she was that much of an embarrassment.

"Eva?"

The horror in her voice made Eva smile. She never heard that before from Anna - she had never heard desperation and fear and helplessness like she did right now.

Eva wanted to listen to it on repeat.

"It's me," Eva confirmed, waving a hand, and sliding the lock into place as she stepped inside the apartment. It was as awful a place as she remembered- maybe even worse. After all, she did all the cleaning in here because Anna never did anything.

The woman was standing at the table. Her hands clutched around the edge of the table, which Eva noted, and smiled more.

"You can sit," she told her, jutting her chin towards the chair. "I don't mean to displace you at all."
