Visiting Home chapter 21

I parked in the space i was told to park in and we got all suitcases and both carry ons into the airport and luckily for us our plane was just starting to board so we rushed through everything and found our seats. The plane took off and i was in the middle with Tegs sitting in the window seat so i fell asleep.

I woke up to Tegs poking me and telling me we were going to land soon and as soon as i was alert we were starting to land.
"We still have an hour drive after the plane lands i hope you got some sleep too, and you wont really like whos picking us up today." She looked at me with a 'who is picking us up.' look and i just smiled at her, doing everything i had to do to get ready for landing.

We got out of the airport finally with our things and i see the same truck i knew for the past five years pull up and Mateo got out i ran up and hugged him then he awkwardly said hi to Tegs and we all just stood there until i said "Lets get going we have a while to get back to Canada still." I slid in the front passenger seat that i knew all too well, when Tegan got into the back behind me.

"So how has Cali been so far?" Mateo asked both of us. "Good." Tegs replied and i said "Amazing, you know how i always use to joke with you about how i was going to meet Curren Caples fall in love and start dating him?" He gasp and said "Yeah i remeber i use to say 'but what about me' and you'd just laugh and I'd smile." "Well what if i told you that dream kinda came true?" "Oh and shes kinda dating Ben Nordberg." He said "Oh." Then continued with "Is it everything how you thought it would be? Does he treat you right?" "Well yeah, everything and more." "They have been "having fun" Currens friends found out the first time they did, and I HERD THEM THE SECOND TIME." She ended up yelling the end.

I smiled back at her and we all continued to talk until we finally got to our hometown. Mat dropped Tegan off at her house, and we turned the way to my house but i knew where he was taking me. A left turn the other way from my turn and a right turn and then another left turn and there's this small park almost no one knows about, only because it's his parents park, since it's their land and this park is in the middle of the forest on the land.

Mat got out of the car and ran to my side opening the car door for me and I got out following him to the climber where we spent most nights. "So you bring any other girls here since we broke up?" Getting the hard question off of my chest i was dreading the answer because i wasn't lying at all during our relationship, i have all of our pictures up on my wall in my California apartment, Curren asked me about them and i told him the truth about everything. "No, i cant date anyone you are the only exception." I looked at him after that sentence and said "What?" "Ever since you left i became more sad, i go into these states some times and when i do i just look at your pictures and i feel better." "Come back to Cali with us, im not going to promise that i will break up with Curren but i don't want to hear that your getting depressed because I'm gone."

"I don't want to be somewhere," Mat started but i cut him off "Mat, i need you to get over me if you wont move with me, maybe your perfect girl is in Cali?" I told him. "Well actually I've been talking to this one girl who goes to the college, shes pretty cute shes kinda short like you." "Hey I'm not that short." I said pouting. "Well then shes shorter than you she has brown eyes and she dyed her hair blue last year liked the colour and kept it ever since, i like it too." He said smiling. "Thats something i would never do, my hair colour is what makes me, well me." I stated.

"Thats what i like about both of you, you only do what you want not what other people say, you don't care what they will think, i think thats what attracted me to you back when we started to become friends." "Go after this girl then, take one for the team." "Congratulations, you remebered what i always say to Clinton when he talks about a new girl, which he still does every single week now." "Wow, last time i checked it was once a month now its once a week?" "Yeah, we should get you to your family, they are most likely wondering where you are." "Yeah, my phone is blowing up with text from my parents." "Lets go Tal." With that we left the park and went to my house.

When i got inside the house every one was waiting for me and Mat got my bags so my parents and older sister ran to me and gave me hugs. I was expecting it because well its my family we are talking about here. After i get settled in i tell my family about my adventures and i kind of mention Curren and how we are dating, my parents react differently than when i told them about Mat who left because he didn't want to hear how much fun I'm having. "Have you two yeah know?" She asked carefully because she was afraid. "Well yeah dont worry we used protection both times." The only thing my dad said was "So when am i meeting this kid?" "Three months time when i come back to visit again, we already talked about it."

"Not even after your first visit, either your making him or he really wants to meet us." "He wants to meet you guys, and he didn't want to be without me for so long, he almost made us late to the airport this morning because he didnt want me to leave."
