Surpises everywhere chapter 23

"Talia, theres someone here to see you." My sister said knocking on the door. I haven't come out of my room since the FaceTime with Curren at around 10:00 and it is now 4:00. "Who is it?" I asked her not bothering getting up. "You have to stop being lazy." She said, and i herd footsteps leaving the door. "So you leave the person in the hall alone." I say while getting up. When i open the door i'm surprised with who i saw. "CURREN," i yelled while jumping on him and hugging him. "Hey babe, you looked so upset and when i got after you left i the only time i got out of my room was to go to the bathroom. Layne told me that he got a plane ticket for today and that i had to start packing, i could be away from you for so long but i didn't think about everything all the way through as i have no place to stay." He finished. "Here, you can stay in the guess room we have." I said fairly quickly. "Now come on Cur you have some people to meet." I said putting his hand to find my parents who should be home by now. "Mom, dad where are you." I said kind of loud.

"Both of us are in the kitchen, dear." I herd my mom say. "Mom, dad you know about what happened with Mat's friends this morning?" "Yes we do you came home crying then went straight to your room." My dad said. "Well," i started bringing Curren into the kitchen. "this is Curren my boyfriend." "Cur this is my mom Clarissa and my dad Zack." I said turning to him. "Hi." Curren said "Hi." My mom said and my dad said "Hello Curren." While shaking his hand. "So this isn't what i expected and Curren doesn't have a place to stay so could he stay with us, please?" I asked "As long as nothing happened between you two you can share your room." My dad said surprisingly. "Alright i promise to keep Mr.Caples Here in line." I said and we went to get his things from the front door to bring to my room.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked when he was settled in. "Show me around town maybe, lets go do something." He replied. "Alright lets go." I said to him then went to the kitchen to ask my mom "Can i show Cur around town, using your car please?" "Sure, be back before dinner though." She said before i walked back to my room. "Since I'm no longer dating him after dinner wanna help me take all the pictures down, then when we get back home we can take the pictures off my wall and put them I a book and put the book somewhere, you ready to go?" I asked. "Yeah, where exactly are we going?" He asked. "Well," I started while texting if Mat. "I have to go do something at a park so could we go there?" I asked after Mat texted back. "Ok, why?" "I'll tell you when we get there." I said.

After making the turns to Mats park Curren asked "Is this a private park?" "Yup, I spent so much time here I forget it's a private park." I said. "This wouldn't happened to be Mats park would it?" He asked. "Yeah his parents own the property and built him a park, it's turned into his park when he turned 18." I said. "Oh so why are we meeting him?" Curren asked. "Well I wanted you to meet him actually." I said looking at Curren. "Oh ok but why?" He asked. "Come on and I'll show you why." I said before getting out of the car and going to out meeting spot.

"Mat I wanted you to meet Curren." I said pulling him the rest of the way to Mateo. "Hi." Mat said kind of waving at him. "Hello." Curren said hugging me to his chest. "You're the famous Curren Caples I herd so much about in news and in the X Games and what not?" Mateo asked Curren. "I am the famous Curren Caples." He replied back "Cool." Mat says smiling and nodding his head. "Why are we here?" Mat asked me still watching Curren. "Well what i wanted was you two to be friends, but clearly i was wrong with that." I said getting out of Currens hold and walking towards the car with him behind me. "WAIT." Mateo yelled when we got closer to the parking lot. I stopped walking and turned around to see Mat running up to us. "Yes?" I asked him. "Well i wasnt trying to come off as trying to be mean because he has you now and i cant do anything about it." He said after he caught his breath.

"We have to go, I'm showing him all the places i use to hang out at when i still lived here." I said after a few minutes. "Alright i guess i may see you around at some point." He said and i got in the car with Curren and drove to the sport centre i hung out at a lot, and the crappy skate park and the indoor skate park Mats parents own. They are the richest family in my hometown they own half of the city i got special treatment before i move when i was dating him it was weird and his friends thought that i was just use him but he knew that that isn't the case at all, i just hope he finds a girl who doesn't care about who he is and how rich he's going to become.

After the little tour it was around the time that i usually got home for supper, and everyone was at the table waiting for us. My first family dinner with Curren, this will be interesting. "So, Tal, how has California been to you so far, besides leading you to this fine gentleman?" My dad asked me. "Well me and Tegs got a new apartment actually just a two minute walk from Currens apartment." I replied. "Oh sweet." My sister said staring at my dad we were waiting for his reaction. "Thats excellent, as long as your happy and im not a grandpa so soon, ill let this whole thing slide." "Wow." My mom and sister said together after what happened with Mateo i was sure he wouldnt like anyone i went out with. Mat made him beyond mad even before we started dating so when we started going out it was like a war was going on so we were barely at my house.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked Curren when we where in my room. "Well lets just lay in your bed and talk." He suggested "Fine by me so whats up?" I asked him getting under the covers. After he cuddled up next to me we just talked until i fell asleep.
