CHAPTER 21

"Come on!" I said, almost protesting and elbowed Brix lightly.

I'm asking him what excuse did he said to get away from Marian and to not come to her house. At least that what she knows. So that we can have a conversation while waiting for Jin- dahil balita ko si Cole ay di na nakauwi. But he just shrug not saying anything.

"Come on! I'm trying to make a conversation here oh!" I urge him again, but this time with a little guilt tripping.

He hestitated for a moment but decided to give in on the end.
"I just said I... suddenly have stomach ache and...that I needed to have a release" he finally said that cause a laugh from me and his face to reddened.

"Aren't you gone overboard with your excuse?" I ask, still chuckling beacuse of what he just said but again, he just shrug.

Ang mahal talaga ng laway ng isang to. Pero pag naglalaro ng ML hindi.

I was about to ask about Jin when I saw her approaching us with a betrayed exprssion.

"Ang dadaya niyo" said by her who just arrive in the venue. She's the last one to come among us 3. Si Cole kasama parin si Marian buying time for us to be on the venue and prepare our surprise too.

"Sorry about that," I said to appease her and text Cole that everything's ready when Tita-Marian's mother gave us her signal.

We're ready

After I sent the text, I face the two again. I also ask Jin about her alibi and hers is way better that Brix.

"I texted Mommy to call and when she did, I answer her questions differently and wear my slighly nervous expression to complete my act" I nod listening to her and Brix seems interested too but didn't say anything and just listen. "Then after the call, I face Jin and tell her My Mom's angry and wouldn't allow me to stay late outside and that I need to go home. ASAP. And Charan! Hinataid nila ako sa bahay and charan ulit, nandito na ako" she proudly narrated her skit. Muntik na nga akong mapa-palakpak kung di lang nag vibrate ang cellphone ko.

I check it and it's a text from Cole.

We're already on the subdivisions entrance.

I informed everybody about the text and we all gathered on one side of the pool. The lights are all turned off for the surprise. Alam naman ni Tito at Cole to so no worries. They just need to pretend like they don't know what's happening to perfect the act and to succesfully throw the surprise too.

Soon after we settled, narinig namin ang pagbukas ng gate at pag parada ng sasakyan sa garahe pati narin ang boses nila.

Especially Marian's problematic voice.

"Bakit walang ilaw Dad?" she ask, lace worried on her voice.

"Wait lang 'nak. Check ko. Cole
paki bantayan ang pinsan mo" Tito said and we heard the force opening of the front door. But of course, it won't open kasi lock yun. The plan is for them to take the back door. And in order to do that, they need to take the path beside the mini garden of Tita and the pool we where at.

"It's locked. Let me check the backdoor. Dito lang kayo" said Tito.

"What's happening Dad? Nasaan si Mommy?" Marian with a nervous voice and a controlled panic ask.

"Try to call her, I'll check the backdoor" we heard nothing from Jin and Tito's footsteps.

Nagulat si Tito ng makita si Tita kaya napasigaw siya.
