A/N: I'm back :) Here is my new story, a spin-off of My Mate, My Luna. You will definitely be reading about some of our previously loved characters.

**WARNING**

Before you read this, I wanted to let everyone know that this story is a lot darker than my previous story My Mate, My Luna. There are dark themes that will be portrayed and there will be triggers such as self-harm and suicidal thoughts/tendencies. Please do not read any further if this type of story is not for you.

Loving Obsidian is a spin-off of my previous story, but they are completely stand-alone books, it is not necessary to read My Mate, My Luna to understand what is happening in this story or vise-versa.

I will do my best to remember to post in the A/N at the start of a chapter if there are any possible triggers.

Hope you all enjoy this new story. I will be posting this first chapter today and then I will have a second one for you on Friday.

Four Years Ago

"Mama, please don't go." I begged, tears streaming down my face and sobs wracking through my weakened body. "I can't do this without you Mama."

My mother weakly raised her hand placing it on the side of my face, "My dear sweet Lyanna, I love you. But Baby Girl you can do this without me. You are not alone; you have a support system my sweet girl." She tried to pull herself up to kiss my forehead as she always did when I was young. Realizing what she was doing I brought myself to her, "You have your brother, Daddy, your friends, and one day your mate. Trust yourself, you are stronger than you believe." She always had more faith in me than I had in myself.

"I know Mama, but they aren't you. You keep me whole." Her hand fell, having exerted too much energy. "I love you Mama." Her eyes were closed now, but there was the faintest smile on her lips.

I knew that she was right, but I still didn't want to let go. I watched helplessly as the sickness ravished my mother's once vibrant body, slowly stealing her from us. Her once bright mane of golden Sunkissed hair, always perfectly styled was now a tangled mess that had lost its shine. Her rosy cheeks now ashen and gaunt.

My father, my brother, and I now sat around my mother's bed, waiting for her final breaths. We were on what I was calling the death watch, something so morbid and primal. I steeled my face, not wanting to show the weakness of my mind, both my father and brother watching me for any signs that I was about to break. I could feel the weight of their gazes upon me, but this wasn't the time to worry about me. This was about mother, she deserved peace in her final moments, and I was going to make she had it.

My father's hands were wrapped around my mother's as he kneeled at her side, kissing her fingers whispering his love and devotion to her. My brother sitting beside me, his arms around my shoulders as I held her other hand. We watched, we waited as her breaths were becoming softer, shallower. Then before we knew it, before any of us were prepared she took her final breath, watching it leave her body was devastating.

I startled from my sleep, jumping up in bed. My sheets and blankets tangled around me, almost suffocating. Sweat was dripping from my body as I instinctively reached for my necklace, tracing the outlines of the gold-plated necklace in the shape of a crescent moon. The familiar motions always helped to calm me. My mother had given it to me when I was thirteen, it was a silver necklace that they had coated in gold so it wouldn't burn my skin but still helped to control my wolf. Moving my fingers to the dangling pendant I ran my fingers over the smooth surface, thinking of the lone shadowed wolf that was howling at the moon.
