A / N: Between this chapter and Friday's chapter I think that a few more of the puzzle pieces will fall into place. But do not worry it is not going to give everything away. I couldn't do that ... yet;)

My mate looked like she was ready to kill, and I would not put it past her either just from the glint in her eyes, she had already shown herself to be very capable at escaping. As we had her surrounded there were a couple of guards that had attempted to secure here, while I tried to keep her attention. But she proved that the guards, who were among some of the strongest wolves in the pack, were no match for her, quickly disposing of them, knocking one out and hurdling the other back into the crowd.
After that display the pack moved back, giving her a larger girth, not wanting to be her next victim. I watched her movements, the way her eyes were darting around, looking frantically for a way out. I was shocked and impressed with what she was able to do, but also fearful of what else she was capable of. It was clear that Alpha commands were not going to work with her, which left all of us a bit confused, even Rogues will submit to the strongest of Alpha commands, but my mate, she did not even flinch.
** You have a great mate there, Eli. ** Eddie snarked at me. ** Any ideas on how you are going to get her to calm down when she won't let you close enough to touch her? **
** No, but I will think of something. ** I responded.
"How, mate will not let us touch her." Kol sulked.
"Have you tried reaching her wolf? You could try being helpful. " I snapped at him.
"I have. Her wolf is even more vile than the human. "
"DON'T SAY THAT! She is our mate; The Goddess gift paired us. Respect that. " I shook my head, shaking his thought of them from my mind, a bit ashamed that he even said that.
The longer that we stood there, with my mate surrounded the more she grew, and the more it seemed fear consumed her. It was slowly breaking me because there was nothing I wanted more than to hold her and make all her fears disappear. But before I could do that, I needed her to come to me.
"Please, Jynx. Come to me. " I pleaded.
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" She screamed, angry. It seemed like her emotions were all over the place, angry, sullen, frantic, scared, then something bordering on compassion.
"Then what do you want me to call you?" It was an innocent question; one I was hoping she would answer. I wanted to know her name, her real name.
"I want you to let me go." Kol whined and ever so slightly she flinched, progress. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, but I could see it did nothing to help calm her. "It is what is best for you." There was a tear rolling down her face, her resolve was starting to crumble. I just needed to hold out a bit longer.
"I am your mate." I called out to her, hoping that talking to her would help deescalate what was happening.
"No, I know who you are Elias." I was a bit shocked she said my name, she had said before she knew who I was, but I didn't realize she knew my name. I had assumed she meant that she knew I was her mate. "I know who you all are. Edison, Tate." She said looking to my brother and father. She turned her attention back to me, "If you knew me you would know I cannot be your mate." There it was the pain of her rejection ricocheting through me again.
The more I tried to talk the more agitated she was becoming, her head watching everything, her senses at their peak. "Why?" I asked her.
Our conversation was interrupted by Abel and my sister breaking through the crowd, "About time you got here, we could use your help. She is a feisty one." Came Eddie's snide comment, I could tell that he hated my mate.
