Peter fought against the familiar sting of tears, as he closed the bathroom door. Roo had followed behind him, settling on his lap as he sunk to the floor.

"I know he didn't mean it- I know that. But I should've remembered." He told the puppy. "It was the one thing he asked me to do."

He felt guilty, knowing Tony was worried about him, and just after his own accident- why didn't he just tell him?

"The delivery may have been wrong, but he was right." Peter confirmed, rubbing the tears from his eyes.

Peter pulled his phone out, wanting to speak to Karen. Although he had a feeling Tony may not want to see him at the moment, he still needed to check on the other, and make sure something hadn't happened to his reactor.

"Karen? Is Tony alright? He just had the surgery, and has been pretty active today-"

"Yes, Peter." She confirmed. "Friday ran scans on him once he had calmed down. Their is no change in his condition."

He breathed a sigh of relief, grateful the panic he'd caused Tony hadn't interrupted his healing.

"I should give him some time, yeah?" He asked Roo, petting him gently. "I think after the trouble I've caused, he at least deserves that."

Tony listened, just outside the door, his heart sinking with guilt. Hearing the other asking Karen to check on him, knowing the way he'd spoken to the other was wrong, yet Peter was still concerned about his well being. He wanted to apologize profusely, but also wanted the other to have the space he needed. They could always talk later.

Hours had passed, closer to midnight now. Peter had exited the bathroom a while ago, falling asleep in bed, leaving Tony to his own devices for the time being. Who was sat on the couch, his coffe forgotten on the table before him.

He'd checked on the younger before, covering him up with blankets, knowing Peter would be cold. While Tony didn't know if he would wake any time soon, he'd decided he deserved a night on the couch, and pulled the blankets closer to him.

The news was on, the reporters discussing the events from earlier in the day, when Tony saw Spider-Man swinging across the tv.

"After the two hour standoff between the armed gunman and the NYPD, Spider-Man aided the force to rescue the four hostages trapped inside. Within ten minutes of his arrival, you can see him exiting the building with all four, safe and secured." She spoke, as Tony watched Peter pulling people from the building. "Their has yet to be an update on the gunmans identities, or their condition after facing off against the hero. However, we have him to thank for the safe return of the victims involved."

Tony smiled, hearing them speak so highly of Peter. He deserved every bit of praise for the job well done, and he couldn't help but feel proud of the other.

"It wasn't that big of a deal."

Tony, startled by Peter's voice, glanced over to see the younger man falling into the couch cushions, his head resting a few inches from him.

"You did a great job." Tony said, offering a smile. "You should be proud."

Peter waved his compliments off, mumbling a thank you, before focusing on the tv once more. The two continued to watch, as they were now reporting on Tony, having received no updates on his condition.
